Fine then, my second vote goes to Effaeldm.
Maybe I need to ease myself back into the Watch a little more gently...avoid complex shananigans like casting votes....maybe get into a debate over semantics or something....

I'm with Cambo - Savor Dam's stands out for me. The other entries are close. If I have to pick a second, it would Menolly's by a whisker.

I will again cast my lone vote for ali:
She conforms more closely to the correct meter than even my own submission.
Her allusion to an "acid-proof sword" is a nice touch of clueless confidence that captures the Quagmire attitude.
(Uh, right, good luck with that, dude...)
Her own lack of confidence is to be discouraged! She
is the real writer in this contest.

Aw, shucks.
(I worked hard to get the meter right. Thanks for noticing.

I'm afraid I'm going to vote for SD, bringing in Mordant's Need atop of all was something

And the spoilered part

...
Thanks, I know how well I did again
1. Which ediface had three rear entrances?
The Ravers - when all of them possess some people.
2. What does Donaldson call "the only truly human form of power"?
The ability to behave like real idiots. That's really a power at times. And truly human.
3. Who is Higgins O'Higgins?
A Giant who thought his name was so not fitting for a story that he decided not to go with those visiting the Land, taking care of how the legends about that could sound.

SD got serious points from me, too, for the Mordant's Need tie-in.

I have Scott Brick's Mordant's Need Bookmarked at AudioBookStore.Com (The Amazon Site). I was reading the first book, when my reading time came to a close and I started to use my Work commute for "Reading". So, I didn't catch that aspect of SD's work, but, I'm looking forward to finally finishing Terisa's story (She had only just gone through the Mirror when I left her) on my commute in the near future

There is no question
Quagmire and Eremis
Have much in common
To say more on this
(Especially the contrasts)
Might spoil a good read

It's time to Announce the Winners of Round 2
Here is how I tally the votes:
- aliantha: 2 votes
- Effaeldm: 3 votes
- Menolly: 3 votes
- Savor Dam: 10 votes
The answers to the Staff of Immunity Question were posted a few days back. Here is how I tally the Survivors' answers:
- aliantha: 1 correct
- Effaeldm: 0 correct
- Menolly: 2 correct
- Savor Dam: 3 correct
So the winner of the Staff of Immunity is:
Savor Dam!
All of which means that the following person has been voted off of the island:
aliantha!
That Survivor walks away with total winnings in cash and prizes of:
10 WGD.
The other three Survivors will stay to compete in round 3.
(I myself voted for ali and SD.)
(Being down to three Survivors, it will be down to one vote per voter from now on.)
(I had almost never watched Family Guy myself. Still... I could not resist "Quagmire", which is a muddy area in which one gets stuck. There had to be a double entendre there
somewhere!
There once was a maid in straits dire
Persued by a Lord, lust afire
'Twas worse than bad luck
In which she was stuck:
'Tis hard to escape a Quagmire.)

Congrats to my fellow contestants, and good luck next round.
My only regret is that I'm joining the peanut gallery too late to get two votes. Ah well...

The Test of the Door
In the rain the torch shone dimly, but it revealed the man. His face and limbs were streaked with dirt and grime, clotted with the blood of numerous small wounds, cuts, and scratches. The remains of a uniform hung about him in shreds.
"By the Seven!" Lord Shetra said. "A Warhaft!"
After a time, Korik spoke for the Bloodguard. "He is Hoerkin, a Warhaft of the Warward. He commanded the First Eoman of the Tenth Eoward. The High Lord sent his command to seek out the Giants in Seareach."
Lord Shetra addressed herself to the man. "Hoerkin. Warhaft Hoerkin. Do you hear me? Speak! I am Shetra Verement-mate, Lord of the Council of Revelstone. I adjure you to speak."
At first, Hoerkin did not respond. Then his jaw moved, and a low noise came from his mouth.
"I am ahamkara, the Door. I am sent -"
His voice trailed off into the flow of his tears.
"Sent? Door?" Shetra said. "Hoerkin, speak!"
In this Test, the Survivors must improve on Lord Foul's methods for delivering important information.
In those days of the Land, a good way to communicate a message like the downfall of the Giants would be to capture a Warhaft, turn him into a zombiecicle, and leave him where questing Lords might stumble upon him. But in our modern age, we would turn to social media.
Each Survivor must post a set of tweets, no less than five, such as would be tweeted by Lord Foul and his followers during the time of the Illearth War. You are encouraged to use mentions and hashtags and other twittoterica as you like. You don't really have to tweet them; just post them here as if they were tweeted. For example:
Lord Foul the Despiser @Foul3721
My new #ravers kick ass.
Contestants will be judged based on humor, wit, Twitter lore, and the dynamics of social networking in the Land.
Seperately, the Staff of Immunity will be awarded to the person who can send to me,
via PM, the best answers to these Chronicles questions:
- From Revelstone, in which direction is the Haruchai homeland?
- How many honorary degrees did Donaldson receive, and from where?
- What is the Chronicles connection to the movie "The Patriot"?
When all the entries are in, the audience will vote for the Survivor whom they consider to have surpassed the others in this contest. Then the winner of the Staff of Immunity will be revealed (for the last time). The Survivor with the least number of votes will leave the Sarangrave with a cash prize of 100 WGD. However, the Survivor who has won the Staff of Immunity cannot be voted off. The remaining two Survivors will move on to the next and final Test.
I would like to start voting by the end of the week. So get those entries in, Survivors!

Oh geez...
What if we're not all that familiar with Twitter?
I only recently started using it to enter contests...

[snark] Don't we have this conversation every round? [/snark]
Yes. She can do this. All three of us can.

So get submitting! Illearth stone warped Foul Piggies and other support troops are already gathering.
Does the Estonia ban for voting still persist, I might be traveling there soon-ish? They're practically Giantfriends with all their vägimees legends, why such restrictions!

The voting ban on Finlandic neighboring countries has been lifted in perpetuity, due to the need to deploy ISWFPs around the world.
