And Stevie, Who do you follow in the EPL?
I have liked Chelsea (blame Gianfranco Zola) and without much liking Man U I think Cantona may have been my all time favourite player.I dont really follow the clubs as much as I will follow the players, and they rarely have much loyalty.
I probably prefer the Champions league now, with Barcelona and Real featuring as the teams I like to follow.
Bicycle kicks and all that madness coupled with supreme speed and touch is great to watch.

Havent detected elven ears of late .. do you imagine Ill get them?
In England I went for Chelsea because I liked their colours, no other reason in the English league and Selkirk in the Scottish Lowland league
Everybody follows Man United .. which is why I never did
But tis different now .. I dont get into soccer like we used to .. plus they cry foul way too much .. and scores like 1 0 do nothing for me.

I don't
hate sports, I just don't follow them or pay much attention to them.
Now, the GF
does hate them. In fact, she accuses
me of being a sports fanatic just because if I flip past something on the TV, I'll go back and see who's playing and what the score is.
Not into playing team sports either. I'm more of a single player kinda guy.

I don't have a team as such that I follow in the EPL - more players like you Kizza. One big standout this year has been Mohamed Salah - what a massive boost for Liverpool! I've always enjoyed watching Arsenal play because they self destruct so much! And Sky, that's why I watch EPL more than other leagues, because the crying foul is sooooo much less - it's tough over there. The skill are way higher than the A-league which is pretty boring really, and there are lots of goals for those that can't seem to handle low scoring affairs
Speaking of playing for free kicks, that has definitely crept into the AFL over the last few years - gives me the shits big time. The pies might not win a flag in the next 10 years, but the most important thing is: last time Collingwood played Adelaide, the score was Collingwood - 106, Adelaide - 58

And that warms the cockles of my heart! I should probably take this to the Sports forum and give it some action...

Hah you little shit
To be honest since the Crows back to back premiership wins in the 90s .. its mostly a disappointing watch. It was sweet to smash the Hawks and Geelong last year .. but we missed out on the premiership yet again.

I followed the EPL more before I met my wife. She doesn't have much interest in sports but rather prefers watching Criminal Minds and Law and Order reruns. But for as much as I follow it, I'm a follower of Everton. I figured long ago if they were Paul McCartney's dad's team that was good enough reason for me to follow them.
I do follow, somewhat, MLS. The quality is well below the European leagues but the stratification is much less.

Everton and Liverpool are arch enemies aren't they? They call it the Merseyside Derby or something like that?
Both those shows you mention and Chicago PD and Chicago Fire get a great run from my wife on the tv..... and the Law & Order, and SVU and CSI.... Its like popcorn drama.

Yeah just not into a lot of those crime shows. Dunno .. maybe it IS too much drama .. and yeah well other things.
Today I think I might go shopping .. need some new boots

but you gotta work up to these things. Mostly I cant stand the masses of people and incessant mall noises. Meh .. Ill see .. or I might go tomorrow or sometime next week.
See how the day progresses and how my little sickie goes. I have to catch up with girlfriends for drinkies and such over the weekend. Looking a little over scheduled now. I did say I would be in town for nearly a month and the majority of catch ups are happening this weekend bleh ..
I think it will be a little tricky .. and a couple of girls were humming and harring about Saturday well Im out with a mate now Saturday night seeing Will Anderson stand up at Canberra Theatre .. so thats now out. hahahahaha
My daughter wanted to do dinner and wanted me to meet her near her work for a coffee .. but she hasnt pinned down a time so that might be off the table as Im only here till Tuesday. LOL
Not that any of that matters .. got to catch up with some former colleagues last Sunday and that was a lot of fun. You know those people that you spend the afternoon just laughing. Nice.

I gotta stay out of that Tank. I don't know if I should laugh or cry in there.
Then theres the place where the maid in the uni dorm nearly walked in on the 30lb sex toy and i spilt my cuppa tea all over my bloody desk.

I am still bloody laughing at that.
I like a laugh like that. This week I have seen gym socks for what they really are.... and i have been wondering if the 30lb sex toy had a name! Would it be rude to ask? In the spirit of the news today, maybe he calls it Ivanka?
Oh its a mad world. You wouldnt be dead for quids.
A friend of mine lost the end of his left index finger on Monday. Put his hand too far into the mulcher.... I asked him how he went with the pain and if he had an out of body experience? He said "No, it just fu%^in' hurt".
Hi ho! Have a nice weekend all.

I would feel bad about asking .. I did

but then I always do

but in my case I had many, many questions, which I mostly didnt ask cos .. figured your supposed to know at least some of the answers
Meh .. dont you worry about the Tank .. though I havent been there today yet .. so dont know whats gone down there. But how bad could it be?????

I posted this thread in the first instance
because I wanted somewhere to post things in a lighter way than seemed possible in the Tank. I often had something to say - often about some random headline from the days papers or whatever, that while I wanted to make the observation, I didn't want to get drawn into a deep and prolonged discussion on it. Also, so many of the posters in the Tank seemed to take such trouble over their offerings - long diatribes with copious referencing etc - that I felt almost guilty about shoving in my puny little contribution, with no backup or deep knowledge, that was simply just what I
thought about the issue. Hence the reason you often find me sticking something in here rather than going 'full-blown Tank' on it.

Wait, you mean it doesn't always take exactly an hour (minus commercials) to solve a crime?
