I read the First and Second Chronicles about twelve yeards ago when I was thirteen. I was grounded all summer long, but I could go to the library. Wandering around the library while looking for something that would take up a lot of my time (I had read every Star Trek book in the library and many other sci fi books) I noticed the massive section of books of the Chronicles of TC. I had never read any sort of fantasy or epic fantasy before, so I was a complete virgin to the genre, and, wow, was I in for a thrill ride. The books transformed my perception of literature. I have re-read the two trilogies twice since then, and they keep getting better every time I read them. (I think it might be quite a long time before I re-read again, though.)

I have read Mordant's Need (twice) and the Gap Cycle, and have thoroughly enjoyed both. Other literary works from other authors that I really like are Zelazny's Amber Chronicles, Arthur C. Clark's Rama series, anything by Stephen King--but namely the Dark Tower series, and I am currently working on His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (really, really good so far . . . I'm 2/3 the way through the Subtle Knife).

I can't wait for the next three books of the Last Chronicles.

Also new to this forum. When I was at camp one summer a counselor read us The Hobbit. After I got home I read the whole Lord of the Rings series. Then I started looking for other books in the same genre and that led me to The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.
I am also a born-again Christian (since 1999). Thus one of my other favorite book series is Left Behind by Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Hi all. I've been hanging around the fringe, enjoying everyone's posts, but decided it was finally time I joined in.

I've been a huge fan of SRD ever since I first read TCTC back in either the very late 70's or very early early 80's. I've probably read my copies of the 1st chrons at least 15 times and the second maybe 8 or 9. I would have to say my favorites are the 1st, but can't really say which of the three I've enjoyed the most. LFB is awsome because of the way it introduced me to the Land, TIW packs such a tremondous amont of energy, and TPTP because of Covenant's acceptance of the land and his redemption

The Second chrons is a little harder for me to deal with because of the radiical changes that have occurred to the Land, but are still an incredible read. I would say that the parts I enjoy the most betwenn both series are Lord Mhorams Victory along with the Coercri

I've already read the Runes 3 times I think, and am currently awaiting the next installment. I was at first reluctant to read it because I knew SRD was going the have the Land go through another transformation, but I have really enjoyed it.

I've really enjoyed everyones analysis of the chrons. In the past, I've simply read them for the story, but now I'm a more aware of the interaction between characters.

Anyways, maybe I can provide some of my own insight and contribute to some of the discussions going on here
