Can you imagine what time he'll be up on the day of release!

Like he would go to bed the night before FR Release.

Hey! Maybe we could generate some publicity for this book if we all agree to camp out in front of our local Borders/B&N/what-have-you the night before! First we'd have to alert the media...I could write a news release... C'mon, it's not like *any* of us will be sleeping Monday night anyhow!
(I finished my re-read of Runes last night. How can I wait 6 more days?

)

You can do what I'm going to start doing later today.
Re-read the First and Second Chronicles and count how many times SRD uses the word 'Mordant' or 'Mordantly.'
He loves that word.

In anticipation of FR, I've been re-visiting the chapter dissections we did for the 2nd Chrons. Made me remember what a great time that was! It was the most serious fun I ever had here.
It also gave me a tinge of sadness when I saw Shadowlurker's name - sad that he is not around to enjoy the Last Chronicles. Which in turn reminded me of Furls Fire's brother. So when I read FR, I will do so in remembrance of Shadowlurker and Stephen C and other absent friends of the Watch.

A bit of a backhanded note on the release of F.R. from the
Sacramento Bee:
www.sacbee.com/107/story/403188.html
"Fatal Revenant" by Stephen R. Donaldson (Putnam, $27.95, 610 pages; Oct. 9): Donaldson published two Thomas Covenant trilogies in the '70s and '80s to establish himself as a premier fantasy writer. The adventures take place in an alternate universe called The Land, where magic rules. "Revenant" is the second in his latest four-book series, which will conclude Thomas Covenant's long -- and often tedious -- road.

Aw, come on now - I'm not
that obsessed.
<less than 6 hours until I can tick off another day>

I wouldn't call that back-handed; that's more like a right-cross, if you ask me.

Just so you guys know, I'm about halfway done with FR, and it's Goooood. Better than RotE, which I also liked. FR lives up to the hype.

Going through a spell of insomnia again......
Argh!! It would be nice to have that when you get FR, but you'll probably fall asleep early every night!

Why is Dlb posting? Shouldn't he be waiting outside the bookstore already?

I got impatient for Fatal Revenant, so I wrote a fan-fic entitled Benign Revenant. It's mostly about a cat named Thomas, who wants to become a boy but he's in love with a frog, who turns into a prince. FINIS
Ha! I just made you read a fan-fic.

There are no bookstores in my town. Don't think I wouldn't be there if I could.

And you aren't in a tent in the parking lot of the nearest bookstore in the closest town?

Is that barbecued squirrel, open fire rotisserie or fricasseed? What are the sides? Grits and okra or collard greens?

Okay, I got the squirrel.
If anyone can come up with a good squirrel recipe, it's Menolly.
I'm just kidding! Squirrel activists, hold your peace.

Would this be a good place for a Harry potter parody thread?
Like could we all pretend that we'd already finished reading Fatal Revenant before it was even released and start spreading absurd spoiler rumors?

At the end ...
Stave and Liand profess their undying love for each other ... it ends with Stave putting Liand in a Haruchai lip lock!!
