Leckie does occasionally let you know, but only for, like, Seivarden (male), Breq (female), and some non-Radchaii. Usually in the context of trying to communicate with people who use gendered language. I don't think Leckie even gave a gender to most characters.

2016 Hugo Award Nominees
aka Rabid Puppies versus Good Writing Round Three

[I tried for 20 minutes to find all the custom characters preventing me from posting the list, but it didn't work. Go follow the link.]
The Rabid Puppies crowd swept everything except Best Novel again. This is the last year we should have to put up with this stuff, as the rule changes should be ratified at this year's Worldcon. (Plus next year's Worldcon is in Europe, which should help a little.)

A lot of women authors are pumped about women sweeping the Nebulas this year. A nice counterpoint to the Stupid Annoying Puppies.

I really wanted to like it, and I keep telling myself that I'm just not in the right frame of mind, but I don't think my opinion is going to change.

Haha, just looked at a review...I actually know somebody named Agnieszka. And her niece is called Kasia.

I see they're going to make a movie of it.
If it ever crosses my path, I may get it, but I shan't seek it out.
