Blowup doll is very handy for bogarting the commuter lane, but very bad at taking over the wheel... some things are best left chained to your bedroom wall, EL, as a placeholder for when LA is done posing for her book covers with Stave?

I really do need to figure out where the studs are in my room so I can install the shackles.

I'm trying not to let this devolve into a bunch of homosexual innuendo.

Oh, bugger it.

I can't think of anything.

See, here in DC it's generally a mistake to put on your turn signal, because the other drivers will refuse to let you in. Better by far to look for an opening and go for it. I'm serious.

The kids got sick of hearing me cheer while driving in Denver, where people would actually *give you enough room to move over* when you put your turn signal on.

People who yell at me for mispronouncing words I'd never heard before.

I was wondering where that might go. ;)

This must be my day for encounters with idiots on the highway. Another guy cut me off when I was on my way somewhere this evening.

And a couple of guys tailgated me, which I also hate. I always keep slowing down till they get fed up and zoom out from behind me.

Agreed. And bus drivers. I hate them all.

And taxi drivers.

...I'm sure there must be some decent ones, but they're the exception.

My husband does that to me. And then he says, "But you should have known about it. It was on the calendar!" Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

Oh man, I hate that, too.

The corollary: People who won't let you over even though you've had your signal on for the last mile and your exit is coming on.

Second Corollary: People who lean on their horn when you finally do move over, even though you haven't cut them off, just cause they don't like the idea that you got in front of them.

People who refuse to move over to the right when they're the slow traffic and they're in the fast/passing lane.

I don't care if the speed limit is 55 and you're doing it. People behind you want to pass you. MOVE.

I more often get people overtaking me, then slowing down until I have to overtake them in turn. It's usually BMWs and Audis, presumably offended at the thought that my old car is in front of them, but who don't actually want to go faster than I am.

I heard a woman on a radio phone-in a year or two ago, who said she does exactly that, specifically to make people stick to the limit. Regardless of my own opinions about speeding, that's a ridiculous level of busibodiness. I wanted to smite her.

I didn't even hear her, and I want to smite her! I thought we had law enforcement to well, enforce the law!

That's hilarious.

She thinks she is being clever, but what she is doing can be very unsafe.
