Lore was perfect as well. I'm feeling really bad that I can't recall the character he took on.

I was simply along for the ride...but it was fun while it lasted.

It make me think that something had to trigger the loop, unless the cycle extends through to the extinction of all life and begins again at some later date with the primordial slime, in which case the very existence of life would be the trigger. However, I get the impression (assuming the validity of this theory) that this is more of a human-cylon-endlessly-chasing-eachother-across-the-galaxy-finding-earth-getting-back-to-Kobal-starting-civilization-anew-cylons-rebel-war-ensues sort of thing. Perhaps the trigger was the initial creation of the Cylons.

I'd like to think, though, that at some point someone is presented with a conscious, or semi-conscious, choice that will either perpetuate the cycle or end it--kind of like The Dark Tower series. Perhaps every generation that flees from Kobal is better prepared than the last to realise the loop and bring about the salvation of humankind. Perhaps each generation leaves unwitting clues for those who follow.

I certainly don't like the idea that they are all doomed to repeat everything over and over again.

The final 5 could have been sleeper agents, remnants of the last time that the cylons had chased the humans across the galaxy(during the previous cycle), thousands of years old(buried in a cave or something ), triggered at just the right moment in time to serve their purpose--might explain why they have been to earth.

Linking both halves of season 4 together will be a set of 10 webisodes which will play a similar role to that which The Resistance played between seasons 2 and 3. The series will be released in the weeks leading up to the premiere of episode 13, starting in December 2008, and will be titled The Face of the Enemy.

Episodes 13 to 22
The second half of season 4 (consisting of 10 episodes) will begin airing on January 16, 2009. Moore has stated that some of these episodes will run longer than the traditional episode with the series finale possibly running for up to four hours.

In the announcement, they confirm that the final 10 episodes of Season 4 will air beginning in 2009, and that the special event will air following the conclusion of the series.

I don't think this is Earth. They didn't show enough of it from orbit to recognize any land masses. And the prophecies say that the leader who is dying will lead her people to Earth but will not live to see them reach it. So I think this may have been the original Earth that the 13th tribe set out to settle, but apparently something happened and they had to move on.

So - guesses for the final cylon? I think it's either Laura or Baltar or Bill. It was said that the final five were all in the fleet. Then Deana said that only four of the five were with the fleet. Why the change? It's becasue she already had the fifth with her on the base ship. And those three are the only significant ones that were in that group of hostages. I really think it could be Adama - Leoban did tell Laura that one time that "Adama is a cylon." And this was right after Adama told Starbuck that Leoban won't lie - he'll just twist the truth.

And from IMDB it looks like we have to wait until January 09? Frack it all!! *sigh*

Adama could be: Lee, Dualla, Zach, the Admiral, or even Laura if she and the Admiral marry. The Admiral has always viewed Kara and Boomer as daughters...so, if you stretch, it could be one of them, and we always have known Boomer is one.

Not in the fleet could be someone who is dead too.

I half suspect that the final 5 will turn out to be a version of the Ship of Lights Aliens from TOS. Their consciousness is eternal, but, their bodies aren't, or something along those lines.

That description could be applied to the other 'human' Cylons, and it would make sense that the 5 were similar in design - though they must have a different and separate resurrection process. As to how and why, I have no idea.

Why did the (known) four survive when most of humanity was wiped out? Tigh and Tyrol were conveniently aboard Galactica. Anders was obviously a survivor, though what would have happened if he hadn't been rescued? As for Tory, I can't recall what ship she originally came from, or much back story at all.

Was it a coincidence that two of them were on the same ship, which just happened to be one of the only two ships in the entire fleet to escape destruction?

Was it a coincidence that Pegasus also survived the attack?

Was it a coincidence that both ships had Cylon agents aboard?

Was there a Cylon agent on every ship in the fleet?

I just learned about The Face of the Enemy an hour ago on line at the grocery store! Why am I always the last to know about crap?!?! But I didn't read much of the article, and figured I'd check out scifi.com. Imagine my surprise when I got there, and I learned it was webisodes when the first episode started playing! Oh man, even though it's only 4 minutes, it's good to see any BSG again!!!

I should mention, the only thing I did was go to scifi.com and it automatically started.

(Therefor most of the people on Galactica.) I think it is going to *have* to be a dead character or someone from off the ship. My gut says dead character

It's all too much. Too much to contemplate. To much to digest. As dlb txted me (we sent back and forth each commercial break ), it could be a red herring. I can't decide if I think it is or not. I can't decide which I would prefer. How can Starbuck not be one? Maybe everybody is a cylon. And the 5 are special because they do something or other...

Well, is the thirteenth tribe really extinct? I doubt it. There must have been a rag tag flotilla of survivors right? If they could resurrect those 5, why not a human? The thirteenth tribe has to be the force that's pulling the strings. Head 6 (and head Baltar) must be their emissary.
