It seems pretty clear that Caprica Six's Baltar is some kind of hallucination brought on by her love and guilt of the man.

Pissed off! We're STILL waiting to see ANY of the second series here in Oz free-to-air TV...

That's insane! One thing to be a little behind, but come on!

Which seems to indicate that if there are different "versions" of Baltar then Baltar must be a Cylon as well.
I disagree. If benig a cylon gives you the ability to project yourself into smoeone else's head, they'd all be doing it. I'm pretty sure these are special situations.

Elfgirl:

I'm in Oz too, and it really sucks that Ten is not showing the series. I don't have the URL, but there was a petition going around to ask them to bring it back, although I think that is a forlorn hope.

I've looked into buying the DVD's but I'm really not sure about format issues. I guess I'll just have to go into JB or someplace and pay through the nose for it.

I'd also like to ask overseas fans if it seems to going well enough that a fourth series might be on the cards?

I can't say that I'm surprised that a series of such moral complexity is a hit with SRD fans. Let's all pat ourselves on the back for that ;)

Not sure what you mean. This is only the second series, so let's work on a third before we worry about a fourth, eh? :D

And if you meant season... Well, this is only the second season, so let's work...

In any event, I think it's going amazingly well, but I don't know what kind of ratings it's getting.

Ratings are never a good indication. How else did "Firefly" get canned after one season, only to become a 'cult' show?

It's the fan base that makes a show viable. And I reckon Battlestar would have a pretty good following. I know I started watching from the get-go because I loved the original series. Sure, it stunned me when I found out my fave character, Starbuck, had become a woman...but I forgave them that because Katee Sackhoff plays it so well and it works to have her play off Apollo. The original Starbuck was fun, tho...and cute! Well, I was only 18 or 19 when the series originally aired... And I was already very 'fangirlish' about Luke Skywalker.

Yes, folks, I have been a geeky sci-fi girl all my life!

Btw, Trapper - I emailed Channel 7 once bitching about them putting a mini-series on in place of "Lost" and got a reply, saying they DID take note - in fact they encourage people to tell them about the shows they screen! So maybe that petition will work (I'm reckoning it's because of that inane Big Bother crap that they haven't screened Battlestar yet - guessing it will be back once those morons are finally evicted!! Hopefully NEVER to resurface)

Good call Elfgirl!!! Spot on!!!

Perhaps a human sacrifice of Gretel Killeen (the BB host) is called for to ensure a third series is both made (cheers for the tip F&F) and screened here.

There was a great preview during the behind the scenes show about Stargate SG-1's 200th episode. It is going to be a great ride!

*bump*

Here in Oz we've just had "Final Cut" televised.

I've read the episode guides for season 2 at www.battlestargalactica.com/newguide.htm and I'm pretty excited about the next few episodes. Any feedback on whether that excitement is justified would be appreciated.

I also recently read that BG was Time Magazines Show of the year for 2005.

But basically I'm just bumping this thread because it's my favourite show ever.

Better than Logan's Run was in the '70s. :D

Yes, the excitement you feeling is well deserved, and should be so for most of the rest of the of the season.

F&F: I take it that what you're saying is that the third series starts in the US on that date? Enjoy...

sindatur: Thanks for the tip.

I taped "Flight of the Phoenix" last night, so I'm off to watch that now.

"Pegasus" is on next week. 8)

Anybody else see it? I didn't know it started an hour earlier than usual, and missed the first half-hour. Annoying, but, since it was a 2-hour show, I didn't have to kill myself or nothin'.

Anyway, some surprises. The kinds of things that happened weren't surprises, but the specific things were.

I missed the last half of season 2. I'm glad I saw the "catch-up" hour before I saw this seasons opener. Apollo a fat whining slob now? hehe And the first thing we see is some "soft porn"? Man, have things ever changed. Well, I enjoyed the show a lot. Seems to be making a case for suicide bombers?

Damn!!! I missed soft porn?!?? :( :( :(

It was just Ellen Tigh. She has an attractive thing about her, but the character herself just makes my skin crawl (which is, I'm sure, exactly what they want from her).

Pretty shocking stuff, but I think the previews for next week were even more shocking. That very last thing that came out of Baltar's mouth in the preview? Didn't I tell you?! Now, it doesn't seem likely to pan out that way if it's mentioned so plainly in a preview - stuff like that never turns out the way it seems. But I still believe it myself!

I didn't see the preview, but I remember your theory, so I guess I know what it showed. :D

And yes, Ellen is very icky!!

I've been trying to catch up with this series, I'm watching the first season on DVD now. Good stuff, I wish I had stayed with it. I saw the "catching up" episode so I watched the 2 hour season premier, and the "soft porn" almost got me in trouble with the wife - "what in the world are you watching?"
