Effie, I would way prefer your version hanging in my dining room than the other.

That bloody Harrow struck again.
And called it "The persistence of weird".

Frosty,

I can even see the sad face expressions in those nostrils

That's one of the most pleasant things I ever heard about any of my work

Though I see how some preference for viewing naked ur-viles could have its influence
If I may remind, the topic is about crossovers with anything - doesn't necessarily have to be with paintings. Not like I say there should be less with painting, like I say there could be more with films, books, legends etc.

OK here's my first submission:
I have another one per Effy suggestion I'm working on.[/img]

The actual moles

I particularly like the similar-looking ones on the right

Ah, milady, how beauteous thy tresses, how delightful the soft touch of thy claws upon my face, clad in adoration!
So this is what you intended with modeling the critters after moles.

Thanks everyone. The red hair, by the way, is supposed to be a wig if that wasn't clear.
(I started with the idea of Paris the mole judgement, with his loyal mole henchmen guarding the tied real Paris in the background but decided to change directions halfway.)

Looks like we waited more than enough. Last call! And if that's all, we may as well start voting. I think we can just post here who votes for which horrible atrocity
deer, lovely work - I particularly like the fuzzy style

Thanks. I think it was a hamster's face originally.

So how will we vote? Can a poll be posted separately?

Well, I thought we can just write here who votes for who - like in Win Wayfriend's Money. The participants may be pleased to actually see the people voting on them and perhaps with some explanations why and good words for other likeable works - just one vote for each person after all.
Also this won't spawn threads, the Mallory's is already cluttered perhaps more than the place it was named after.

It's really hard to decide between Effy's and WF's... I guess I'll go with Effaeldm's because if WF's was hanging in my living room, I couldn't stay there.

I don't think you can vote the host's encouragement art, as hilarious as it is.
My vote goes to Shoe's happy moleviles.

Gotta go with Deer's laugh-out-loud Grace Jones effort (although Frosty's ur-dali effort was excellently bad

)

Sorry I didn't finish the second entry in the end (it was supposed to be The Three Wise Moles who cannot hear, speak or... shrug nonchalantly with a winning smile)
Thanks Frostheart.

I'd vote either for Effy's well drawn mirror picture or, Dawn's ceiling mofo angel if challenge issuers aren't qualified. It mad me grin.

Loved the Dali and Warhol takes-- I guess I would vote for Frosty's if I can't vote for Effy's: Wayfriend's scares me.

I think it's better to have the host's art voted for - and for all the votes to count for a person, not for a specific artwork - for the simple reason of encouraging more art to be posted. However, I willingly withdraw.
Any votes in the thinking out process yet? If not, this may count as the last call, I'd like to see the contest continued soon.

The nostrils still stare at me in unison, even though it's almost noon and I'm not tired one whit.

Looks like that's all for now. I find it hard to vote for one in such a situation, well, I think I'll vote for wayfriend's impression of the Men In Black spy among aliens, I mean Warhol
And...
The monkey, already starting to turn into something else, jumps up happily and points at the beautiful creature resembling a deer made of dawning sun's lights.
"You're the Monkey now!"
