If you listen to the Martians' cry in the War of the Worlds album I swear they yell out 'THOOLAH' not 'HOOOLA!'. Which suggests THOOLAH is evil and all members will eventually be wiped out by bacteria.

Despite her claims to the contrary, it's obvious that Lucimay is in fact being tortured. The use of bright light, along with the gag make this fact plain. Furthermore, she is obviously sedated, no doubt drugged against her will, and forced to renounce THOOLAH.
