Oh! I mean, hello and welcome to the watch MJS. Some words of advice,

Waddley Hasselhoff is a trouble maker.
Don't make fun of Jay's smock.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT make Lucimay angry, you won't like it when she's angry.
Avoid my posts since I am a bad influence.
Don't read Menolly's posts in the galley if you are even remotely hungry or you will have to replace your keyboard because of drool damage.

Good Luck and Happy posting!!

I've been a huge fan of SRD ever since I first read TCTC back in either the very late 70's or very early early 80's. I've probably read my copies of the 1st chrons at least 15 times and the second maybe 8 or 9. I would have to say my favorites are the 1st, but can't really say which of the three I've enjoyed the most. LFB is awsome because of the way it introduced me to the Land, TIW packs such a tremondous amont of energy, and TPTP because of Covenant's acceptance of the land and his redemption

The Second chrons is a little harder for me to deal with because of the radiical changes that have occurred to the Land, but are still an incredible read. I would say that the parts I enjoy the most betwenn both series are Lord Mhorams Victory along with the Coercri

I've already read the Runes 3 times I think, and am currently awaiting the next installment. I was at first reluctant to read it because I knew SRD was going the have the Land go through another transformation, but I have really enjoyed it.

I've really enjoyed everyones analysis of the chrons. In the past, I've simply read them for the story, but now I'm a more aware of the interaction between characters.

Anyways, maybe I can provide some of my own insight and contribute to some of the discussions going on here
Read 1st Chronicles 15 times, huh? and 2nd Chronicles 8 times? Then you must have plenty to say about it. Check out the Dissecting the Land forum!

Nah! Don't do that! Jump straight in at Gravin Threndor and join the Pantheon.

Xar is really SRD you know - it's like taking part in a brand new unpublished novel, only better.

Welcome, have fun, and um hello!

I've been an avid reader my whole life. As far as I'm concerned, there's almost nothing better than a good book, and TCTC tops my list.

When I first read them, the story just totally blew me away so I would read them over and over, every time noticing more and more detail. Then, out comes the second chrons. Well, you just have to reread the first before you can start TWL. But then you have the wait for TOT, so then you HAVE to reread the first chrons again, along with TWL. And then, you have to repeat again for TWGW.

So then, I put the books away for several years before rereading and it was amazing. As my life changed over time, my interpretation of the books changed. At first I was reading for the story, but then you start to notice all of the details that SRD is famous for and how they relate to the world around you. So there I was, every 3 or four years digging out my copies and starting all over again.

Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered that the third installment was out. At first, I was reluctanct to start Runes. I was unsure what kind of changes may have happened to the Land or if SRD could match the first or second chrons. How wrong I was. But of course, it WAS necessary for me to read the first two chrons as a refresher.

I then stumbled upon The Watch and, after reading a lot of the disection of TC, it became necessary to reread once again.

So, that, in a nut shell, is why I have read TC so much and why I'm halfway through LFB once again.

I really gotta get new copies. Finally replaced LFB but don't think TIW or TPTP will last another reading. Thankfully, my second chrons are hardcover.
