Allright, ladies and gentlemen, the deadline to vote for the creation myth contest has arrived. I have received nine votes so far, so - since I admit I forgot to mention it again yesterday - I'm offering a one-day extension for voting. The new deadline is this evening, 11 pm GMT. Any player who hasn't voted and wishes to do so can freely do so before that deadline; then, tonight or tomorrow morning (depending on the time) I will be posting the list of the first three most-voted creation myths, and update the follower totals to reflect the increases.

For those of you with spreadsheets and calculators, keep in mind that the increase in followers received as a bonus due to the contest is not an absolute number, but it is calculated the same way as the losses or gains of followers are always calculated in the game: so, don't expect to easily distinguish who was first from who was last by calculating whether Mr. X received three times as many worshipers as Ms. Y You WILL notice an increase for all contestants, though

So get on it with the voting... the two front runners are only separated by half a vote right now!

For what it is worth - I would vote for announcing the top three openly.

The winners (even if not me ) worked hard on their stories and deserve public recognition!!

Thanks for the extension, Xar. I never got my vote in. I was very happy to read the entries after I had posted mine! Some good stuff there, folks!

Tzeentch: Tzeentch, the Changer of Ways, blesses his servants with various strange deformities, thus necessitating concealment of these changes if they wish to hide amongst human-kind. His champions dress in bright and garish colors, especially bright yellow and blue.

However, .... YO ... Nor! Are Nurgle and Tzeentch relatives!!?

Ah, I must disagree!!! Anybody remember Intellevision? A competitor of Atari and Nintendo back in those days. There was a game called Utopia. There were two islands, one for each player. You could even play alone, and ignore what was happening on the other island. The object was to create, obviously, utopia. Which, for the purposes of the game, meant making your people happy. And that was seen by how many gold bars they produced each turn. So you planted crops, and they were happy, and made produced gold. And you made some factories, and they made even more gold. But the pollution from the factories made people sick, so they started producing less gold. So you made a hospital, and the gold went up again. Fishing boats; warships to keep the pirates away; schools; hurricanes destroying crops or buildings... You had to work and work to get the right mixture, until you got 100 gold bars!

That's Bhakti's vision of Eiran. It's damned difficult to make paradise even when there aren't wars between deities! What happens when the populations every need is taken care of? What about their wants? Social unrest? Followers doing things in our name that is actually opposed to our teachings?? I'd happily spend all my days trying to work that stuff out? Jove would likely have her hands full with corrupt Guildsmen stealing the profits and opening sweatshops.
