Hard as this is going to be to implement, my advice would be to act however feels natural. Agonising over this stuff is the worst thing you can do.
Good luck, Foul! :D

I think Balon has some good advice for you, Foul. The Fonz never fails.

Today was a good day. I went to the dentist, no cavities as far as they could tell. Though the hygienist poked my gums a tad too much and now in the back they're inflamed and hurt. I've gotten the majority of the house clean. Will do laundry this weekend at the in-laws'. Hopefully we won't get anymore snow and the sun will come out this weekend. That would be perfect.

My son is also very close to walking by himself and I am so excited! I know nobody cares, but it'd be nice not to have to lug 28 pounds of Chub anymore.

Woot! That's great news, Jaz! :letsparty: My goddaughter is 3 months old, and not quite 13 lbs, and she gets awfully heavy after about 5 minutes of holding her. Guess I need to work out more often! :P

Lord Foul, just be yourself and smile and make eyecontact while talking. Girls like that. It puts them at ease and makes you appear very confident. Then let things go where they may.

Jaz, that's wonderful! Better go childproof the house! NOW! RUN! QUICK!

Wylde, When I was at my family reunion a few years back, my cousin Jody's four year old daughter Madison attatched herself to me like a monkey. I ended up with that kid on my back for hours. I was sore and tired but I never once minded. At one point my Grandmother was telling Maddy to leave me alone and walk for a bit and I said, "She's not heavy, she's my cousin." 8O  I also found myself running while lugging a six year old niece, Lily, and four year old niece, Grace, around in the yard, one under each arm yelling, "I caught me some MONKEYS" for quite a bit of time two years ago. It's well worth the pain.

Danlo, Tam, Elora and Jojo, Moose will get his loves in all of your names. He's having a boys night at the apartment with Bloodguard Bob. We were gonna do a steak dinner but we both had pretty long and busy days so Moose will get prime rib bones at dinner Saturday night. He will also get some more beach time in if the weather permits.

Thanks guys! I just feel so proud. He's 15 months, so he's on the late side and I just worry about something being wrong with him, even though I know there isn't.

Jenn, the fact that she's heavy doesn't stop me from carting her around for an hour at a time. I just hope that my upper body strength grows as she does. :P But she's so adorable now. . . she stares at me like I'm the only thing in the world when I hold her, and she just gets to be more and more fun to interact with each time I see her. Luckily I see her at least once a week, and sometimes more. :)

That's great advice. My eye contact and talking skills could use a little polishing. Heck, a total restoration! ;)

Happy Birthday Moose...even if you are a little dog and I'm kinda paranoid of little dogs...but I'm sure you're a nice doggie!

I'm good. I've been at the beach all arvo looking in rockpools. Me and SoS found some bizarre stuff. And then I took a whole lot of pics for this couple who I met on the beach and who wanted some lovey-dovey pics of them taken. Awwwhhhhh... Then the guy asked me for directions to Phillip Island (bad move!)

I was kinda low yesterday...a whole lot better today. :)

Dont' be afraid LF, she approached you, she made the FIRST move, the ball is in your court now. She WANTS to spend time with you, she wants to STUDY with you, she trusts you, she finds you approachable enough to initiate. You got it all going for you. If you don't think that girls go through the same confidence issues that guys do then you are WRONG. She put it out there, now hit the ball back and be respectful and kind and appreciative and you can't go wrong.

Lyr, I didn't mean that as a criticism. I see how it could have been and I never intended that. You know I lurves you girl. Kids are just so great. I am sure you are the bestest godmother ever. I also know the worship stare. It rules. I call my sister Pooky. We went to the zoo and in the zoo experience I was petting deer and had wild birds landing on me, afterwards, we went to lunch and Grace had worship eyes. She told me she wanted to call Ellen (her mother) Pooky because that's what I called her. I said, "It's different between sisters and mothers. Your Mom is to me what Lily is to you. Lily is your big sister and your mommy is my big sister. You have to find your own names for your sister and Pooky is just between your mom and me. It has years of history." About ten minutes later Grace called Ellen, Pooky. Ellen reacted with shock and said, "You can't call me that, I'm your mother!" Grace never tried it again. Kids are so funny.

Jaz, all kids are different. He will progress at his own pace. He will come into his own. I was off the charts for short as was my sister. I hit a growth spurt. We are both normal heights. I developed much faster educationally than my sister, brains NO, the fact that in playtime she would teach me her school lessons causing me to enter first grade with third grade writing and reading skills, yes. Every kid has a specialty and a personal growth curve. He is just fine. Now stop worrying and just enjoy.

Well, I just had a full-out depressive "bout." At least that is the word I use when the worst emotions suddenly flow and all my willpower needs to go to keep from screaming. Valentine's Day, the third spent alone since my darling Colleen's passing. Paychecks at work were delayed one day. My production is down. Earlier this week I learned my blood pressure has jumped twenty points in about a month (!). Rent is late, which means an extra $50 fee. Until then, I'm broke. My supervisor was giving nothing but negative feedback for the last week or so. I thought I'd won an award, then learned I hadn't, which bothered me far more than I thought it would. Finally finished writing a story, and it didn't quite meet up with my hopes.

Not a good day. I left work and very nearly collapsed en route to the train station.

Yeah, I can be a mess.
