I'm in love with life today. The house is 90% clean, the sun is shining and yesterday I heard "Landslide" on the radio. I know it was a message from my father in the afterlife.

That makes me think of something that happened to me once. . . I found a 10 of hearts stuck in a fence once--it was pristine and had to have been left there on purpose. It was in a very quiet place, so I don't know who had left it, or for what purpose. I decided that the universe had left it for me, so I picked it up and carried it in my wallet for years. :)

And apparently people do have divorce parties.

Sorry Zahir! Hang in there my friend!

Jenn was Moose rooting for the Beagle at the WKC show? I know Jojo was.

Miss Grace has successfully pped in the potty twice this morning. Tam and I had full body massages and went out for Thai food yesterday. Called my Dad this morning and he's made it through my Mom's birthday OK. Now waiting for the tilers to show up to finish their work around the fireplace. Once they arrive Elora and I are going to the aquarium (Sarge, you're invited too! :P ).

At 4:00 we're taking Luis and Amanda for the weekend as respite for another foster parent and we're waiting to hear word about Aiden who is a 4 week old Meth/Heroin exposed baby who's almost off Methadone-since none of his relatives are in any shape to care for him he may go straight to adoption with us and become Zachary Havelin. I may have a son and I've never ever seen him yet!!! 8O

Thank you very much everyone. Went to bed early. Woke up in the middle of the night. Eventually went back to bed, this time with my kitty curled up on my chest. Got up again about half an hour ago feeling ragged.

Reading your kind words helped and helps.

My father passed away from cancer last month. We were very close, so it's been very hard to cope; but I take comfort in the fact that he's no longer in pain. He's been sending me some signs lately I can only suppose to let me know he's not gone (I sang "Landslide" to him, once. And the other day I was thinking about it, then yesterday I heard it when I never listen to the radio). Somehow, just knowing he's not gone forever sends my spirits soaring.

Danlo! Lady Tam! WOW! That is so awesome and exciting and well, so many emotions all wrapped into one. Tell Miss Grace that her Auntie Jenn says, "You go girl, keep up the good work!"

Sorry to hear about your loss Jaz but glad that you can take comfort in the small things.

Everyone who needs a hug gets one.

I am ready for my weekend! I want it to start NOW! I'm READY READY READY!

Lucimay, got any mangos? 8O :D

Frustrated! Today has been rather hectic yet somehow a coleague and I managed to spare an hour to treat ourselves to a french manicure(my first even).
Now usually I have quite long nails but a couple had broken so we decided short was best...this was until afterwards when I now realise I can't open things properly, typing feels downright weird and I can't scratch an itch on my arm because I have no nails!!

Goodness that sounds shallow of me doesn't it!

You will readjust quickly. My nails grow really tough, fast and long but I work in an auto shop so I break em pretty regularly. I usually trim them all to be somewhat even in lenth. I about half an hour they feel all normal again.

I'm used to short but these are REALLY short. I'm sure by tomorrow I will be adjusted. At least at this length they won't get ripped and hooked at work.
I never find time to do my nails these days-so for now they are looking pretty. Do you ever bother with polish and stuff or do you find its pointless when working?

Occasionally I feel the urge to polish and I always have remnants of toenail polish on my toes.... (note to self: paint toenails tonight) but it's very hard to keep nail polish on for more than one day without chipping it all up.

That sucks. Didn't she stick you under the nail dryer long enough? :?

Y'know, when I went through my divorce, we had a funeral. We buried the bride and groom from our wedding cake. It was nice to have a ritual to say goodbye. So a party might be good too, especially if both sides are cool with it.
Sorry to hear you are going through the process. Even if it is something that makes you happy to do, it is still difficult.

thanks Cag. i appreciate it.

we didn't have a bride and groom cake so no bride and groom to bury!
but that's a great idea!! :D
