How do you feel today? v. 3.0

We've all been there. I'm actually at the point I consider it healthy to consider suicide... well, not consider it, but to contemplate it. Or maybe just to think about your own death. I don't know. It doesn't scare me the way it used to, but death doesn't hold any appeal either.Cameraman Jenn wrote: Don't worry everyone, I would never actually jump off the bridge or attempt suicide in any way, just the fact that I thought it scared me into a round of change of life searches via jobs and so forth.
For myself, I've been tempted lately to sell most of my stuff and live in a car for a while. It's not like I have a lot... a few pieces of furniture, a big tv, some boxes of books and movies... but when I considered getting rid of it all, I just felt so much more free. Like George Clooney's character talks about in the movie Up in the Air.
Like me, you haven't kissed me!Cameraman Jenn wrote: way too many hot young guys still unkissed

So I noticed I had a new earworm today ("Cornerstone", Arctic Monkeys), which reminded me of the earworm I complained about yesterday, and guess what, thinking about it brought it back.
Seriously, arg:
Long ago, just like the hearse you died to get in again, we are so far from you.
It makes neither grammatical nor semantic sense!
(Why doesn't Vespers have a "Share your earworm" thread?)

I can read Wikipedia as well, but I like to get these things from the horses mouth. (Said with nose turned up in disdain, dwindling to horror as I realise I just called Ali a horse)

Murrin: I believe I started an earworm thread here in GenDisc awhile back. As I recall, it quickly devolved into a yacht rock thread.... I'll have to go look for it.

Yes... in some ways it's -more- likely that I'll try to make decisions and deal with my actual problems if I have a certain level of discomfort/pain going in.aliantha wrote:Linna -- good for you. Hope your appointment goes well (or at least is helpful).
I suspect that if things just go the "default" route, I'm going to be flicking all over the place and avoiding focusing on any one problem.
I think I always start talking to people once I'm already on the up-swing... (even if still low) Yesterday had some amazing good stuff in it.
Luci- sounds like your quote is spot-on for relevance for peoples right now!
sorus- ack... I hate that "place"; your words say so much: we all want to SEE that who we are and what we can do really MATTERS. sigh.

Yacht Rock is AWESOMENESS! You must succumb to it's brilliance, it's magic, it's high-sterical parody of eighties music.
I had an ok day. I was on the bus to work and I realized that at some point my co-worker Alex had gotten on the bus. I was in the back so he didn't see me and I was reading so I didn't see him until I heard his voice talking on his cell phone. We were almost to our stop so he got off the bus and I got off behind him and aggressively pushed him and he turned around all ready to punch someone and then saw it was me and started laughing. I know anyone who saw me deliberately come up behind him and push him was thinking, "Why in the hell is that little white lady assaulting a huge black man????"
Talked a bit about potentially relocating with my co-worker Dale. I had mentioned a while back that I was thinking about it and he ended up being a good sounding board which is not really a quality I have come to expect from Dale so that was a nice change of pace. Other than that it was pretty much the same old same old.

i did good work today. wrote up three i/m's. one for cussing at my captain and making an obscene gesture (very much so - disgusting really)
when he did that i got very protective of my captain, she and i may have issues, but she is my captain. this startled me, i didn't realize that my respect of rank and order ran that deep. i really wanted to slam the i/m against the table and cuff him - i settled on pencil whipping him instead. (the write up)
so at last a spark. i also foiled some i/m's trying to thieve from our commissary, found how they were doing it and all. for a moment i cared about the unit like it were my own. it faded, but damn it was there even briefly.
that is progress.

Still kind of fried from traveling, but had a fantastic time. My Dad's party was great! He had a blast for 3 hours until he got really tired. It was in my little sisters backyard which is very rare for him as he gets out of his apartment maybe twice a year and has to be taken by wheelchair. 90! That's so cool. First time in 15 that all three siblings have been together in the same place, first time in 15 years I've seen my nephew Andrew, and we have more in common than the rest of the family.
Thank you SO much lorin for picking me up, driving me around, putting me up and taking me to the beach--you made a long trip a breeze--you are a very gracious host and a wonderful person!!! Yes it was wonderful swimming in the Atlantic for the first time in 35 years and great hanging out with ali and Magicmaker and swimming in your pool. Saw 3 movies too, if you can believe it: my sister, bro-in-law, nephew Mal (the sculptor) and his girl friend and I watched Mr. Huelot's Holiday with Jaques Tati a wonderfully funny old french film. lorin and I saw Clerks which was kick ass and filmed in her home town and I snuck off on Tuesday to watch a matinee of Captain America, which was awesome-one the best Marvel movies ever made--I was the only one in the theater, in NEW YORK??? AND they only charged me 6 bucks for 3D!!!
I missed my girlies like crazy and poor Tam is still recovering from the plumbing backing up, the car breaking down and some weird ass crap going down with our ex-foster boys. She just woke up, so I better give her a hug. (now I can add Minnesota to the list of states that I've, well not visited, but at least been bodily present in_

really wanted to vent the "stressed out of my mind" bit. hrm.

when you go on the diet i am on there is an expected period of not feeling well as the body burns out toxins and such held in the fat. i am going through that now. head is pounding like a big bass drum. but glad i am back on the wagon again.
