Marvel isn't waiting until next February to make more money off DT. I just bought somehting called the 'Gunslingers Guidebook', and in October Marvel's releasing a hardback edition of the 'Gunslinger Born' series:
reliable internet source wrote:Dark Tower Sequel in February!
Due to overwhelmingly consumer demand for its critically acclaimed The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born, Marvel Comics has announced that an all-new follow-up series – The Dark Tower: The Long Road Home – will premiere this February!

A five-issue limited series from the same amazing team that redefined graphic fiction, The Long Road Home picks up where the first story left off and forges new ground in the Dark Tower mythos. Under the direction of horror master Stephen King, the creative team of Robin Furth (Stephen King’s The Dark Tower: A Concordance) and The New York Times-bestselling author Peter David continue the tale of Roland Deschain and his companions as they march toward the inevitable battle of Jericho Hill. This incredible journey is brought to chilling life through the stunning artwork of Eisner Award-winning artist Jae Lee and fan-favorite Richard Isanove.

After an historic midnight debut in February, The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born went on to become one of Marvel’s most popular titles thus far in 2007, consistently landing in a Top 5 berth on Diamond’s Top 100 Comics chart. Moreover, the first four issues of the seven-part series sold out their initial printings in mere days, leading to heavily demanded second and third printings, fueling consumer demand for even more of The Dark Tower!

Additionally, Marvel’s The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born Premiere HC, which collects all seven issues of the bestselling first series, is offered in the September Marvel Previews. It is scheduled to ship November 7, so place your orders now and watch future issues of Marvel Previews for The Dark Tower: The Long Road Home!

Okay, Dark Tower II is done, and I was thinking in a few months I'd hear about DT III, but when I went to the store today I found out The Stand adaptation is coming out on September 10. I didn't even know it was being done! Anyway, here's some info on it:
THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS # 1
The Story: It begins here: the apocalyptic epic battle between good and evil based on the classic bestseller by master of horror Stephen King! On a secret army base in the Californian desert, something has gone horribly, terribly wrong. Something that will send Charlie Campion and his wife and daughter fleeing in the middle of the night. Unfortunately for the Campion family--and the rest of America--they are unaware that all three of them are carrying a deadly cargo: A virus that will spread from person to person like wildfire, triggering a massive wave of disease and death, prefacing humanity's last stand! Be there as writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four) teams with artist Mike Perkins (Captain America) for the first arc in the next great Stephen King event!

Ahh, the 3rd DT series is also out on Sept. 10:
THE STORY:
The ka-tet of Roland, Alain and Cuthbert have returned safely to their home in Gilead. But all is not well. Roland has kept the evil Maerlyn’s Grapefruit and has become obsessed with peering into its pinkish depths despite the deadly toll it’s taken on his health. And what the young gunslinger sees brings him the darkest of nightmares. Meanwhile, Roland’s father has led a posse in search of those who threatened his son’s life in Hambry—John Farson and the Big Coffin Hunters. And in this encounter, Stephen Deschain’s life may be forfeit.

I've been really impressed with the adaptaion/expansion of the Dark Tower so far, so I'm looking forward to both DTIII and Stand.

My one concern with Stand though, is that this looks like it's going to be a 6-issue limited run. I really don't think there's any way the book can be done justice in only 6 issues. Now it may be that just the first portion of the book is being adapted in 6 issues (maybe the reason for the "Captain Trips" subtitle?) and in that case, I'm sure all will be good. :D

Hadn,t read any of S.King stuff before but while browsing in comic shop I noticed the comic version of "The Dark Tower" so I had to get it of couse picked up the first two in the series and taught they were great and quiet cheap for the work that goes into them. I say it won,t take me long to purchase all 7.
