ROTFL.
Although maybe It's Not Unusual would be even more out of place when Elena tries to seduce TC in TIW?
Lena could do a jig to Abba's "Dancing Queen" instead. Tambourine and all. I'd imagine that a tambourine could scoop up a goodly amount of hurtloam.

Trapper439 wrote:Why is it that '80s music does the "Cheese falls from the Sky" thing that A Gunslinger mentioned so well?
Not that those songs were SOOO bad. We remember them with varying degrees of fondness 20 yrs later.
But what was it with that decade?
Mind you, in the '80s we saw the '70s that way.
In retrospect we (I?) were wrong.
Maybe a thread is needed on the "General Discussion" or "Vespers" pages on the differences between decades musically and how they are seen by different age-groups?
Since you brought it up, you can have the honour of starting that thread.
Before we trash the '80s
totally
(I know, you can't resist), I should say that most of my favorite rock songs do come from that decade - just not necessarily the ones I've listed in this thread, because you're looking for CHEESE here, and I'll be the first to admit there was plenty of that in the '80s.
Okay, more cheese:
Vain running over fiery graveling while carrying Linden - "Hot Hot Hot!"/ Buster Poindexter
Kasreyn's Theme Song - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"/ Tears For Fears
Atiaran and Covenant travelling to Andelain - "New Moon On Monday"/ Duran Duran
Covenant and Lena descending Kevin's Watch - "Step By Step"/ New Kids On The Block
Sunder and Hollian - "Too Shy"/ Kajagoogoo

*Imagining face to face shoulder-drop dancing of Sunder and Hollian in pink headbands*
That even exceeds the cheese quotient of this thread!

Shame on you, MM.
Perhaps when TC is left gasping on the bare stone of Kevin's Watch after Drool and Foul have left him there at the start of LFB:
"I think we're alone now" - Tiffany.
There doesn't seem to be anyone around, oh wait, here comes Lena...
Or when the sun is rising on Kevin's Watch as Hile Troy awaits his first sight of Foul's armies. Cue the opening bars of Van Halen's "Jump".

Foamfollower at Hotash Slay: "Don't Pay the Ferryman".
Until he's killed that tripod thing at the other side.
After the debacle at the One Tree: "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". (With TC kissing Linden during the line "I have kissed honey lips...")
Viewing the Rock Gardens of the Maerl (sp?): "I Wanna Rock" - Twisted Sister.
Baradakas: "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick".

A lot of these suggestions are funny, but one or two are just grotesque.

Such as:
Matrixman wrote:Covenant and Linden together on Starfare's Gem - "How Deep Is Your Love"/Bee Gees
I now have mental images of Covenant approaching Foul's Creche to the strains of "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins.

Linden's theme: She Bop by Cyndi Lauper
Foul's theme: Every Breath You take by the Police
Hile's theme: I Wear My Sunglasses at Night
Thomas' theme: Po Goes the World by Men Without Hats

Hmm...a theme for Hile Troy eh?
"Hero Takes A Fall" by the Bangles?
"I won't feel bad at all, when the hero takes a fall..."

Nice call on Foul's Creche.
I wasn't going to say it before but my pick for the TC/Linden love-making-song would be "Detachable Penis" by King Missile.
When TC defeats Foul: "The Winner Takes it All" - Abba.
Mhoram striding around the besieged Revelstone to the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive" (the first bars kicking in every. single. bloody. time. the story switches back to him, with much camera emphasis on his hairy chest, gold medallion and the flared trousers under his short faux-fur pimp-robes).
And the Bloodguard/Haruchai should be covered in Bling and rap about how how great they are. They should also nonchalantly moon-walk in the middle of battle to show just how easy it is for them.

Hmm... How about for the beginning of WGW, when Covenant is all depressed and won't come out of his quarters: Feelings (woe woe woe feelings....)

I'm trying to play that song in my head but all I'm getting is that Barbara Streisand song that goes: "People... People who need people... Are the luuuckiest people... In the world"
Is that the one you mean?
Or at least the same sentiment?
A Gunslinger's started a Worst Songs Ever thread over at Vespers for those who haven't seen it:

My choice there was Meatloaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" which could apply equally to Mhoram and the Ritual of Desecration or Linden's various horrors.

Linden would have to modify the song though. "I won't do anything for love, or for any other reason, because I'm a whiny freeloader"
