The Video

should i know all we're missing
what's to stop what they're missing
to feel love, to be in love
all around

anyone can hold a promise
not everyone can feel honored
to be in love, to feel love
all around

turn me on, hear me speak
let me be what i need
you're enough for me

many times while you sleep
i'm dreaming of what to keep
to know your wish, hold it true
to slay the things that trouble you

turn me on, out of reach
listen here, feel me
just believe, just believe
you'll see

to feel love, to be in love
all around

hold the truth if you want it
if you don't, i won't flaunt it
to feel love, to be in love
all around

when you're young you can promise
anything that you wanted
to be in love, to feel love all around

turn me on, let me speak
from my heart, i receive
plain happiness, just happiness
you and me

to feel love, to be in love
all around
to be in love, to feel love
all around
to feel love, to be in love
all around
to be in love, to feel love
around

i know your wish, i hold it true
(feel love around)
to hide the things that trouble you
(feel love around)
turn me on out of reach
(feel love around)
let me speak all my peace
(feel love around)
just believe what you keep
(feel love around)
you'll never need to hurry me
(feel love around)

to be in love, to feel love
all around
to feel love, to be in love
all around
to be in love, to feel love
all around
to feel love, to be in love
all around
to be in love, to feel love
all around

Thanks Balon.

Again, that is just totally beautiful and not something I would have expected in music today.

Ahhhh....From Rotten Apples! They're a great band Menolly. Thoughtful poetic lyrics and an incredibly varied sound ranging from orchestral strings to driving, screaming guitars. Give them a listen. I'd recommend Rotten Apples as it's a greatest hits album but also try "Adore" and "Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness".

Here's one for you off of Melon Collie called Galapagos. Read the lyrics below as you listen.

Ain't it funny how we pretend we're still a child
Softly stolen under our blanket skies
And rescue me from me and all that I believe

I won't deny the pain, I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Will you leave me too?

Carve out your heart for keeps in an old oak tree
And hold me for goodbyes and whispered lullabyes
And tell me I am still the man I`m supposed to be

I won't deny the pain, I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Will you leave me too?

To late to turn back now
I'm running out of sound
And I am changing, changing
And if we died right now
This fool you love somehow
Is here with you

I won't deny the pain, I won't deny the change
And should I fall from grace here with you
Would you leave me too?
Would you leave me too?

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks Brinn, the lyrics look fantastic.

Could you link me to an mp3 instead of a video? Being on dial-up takes forever to open videos, and I am usually punted while trying to watch them. TIA

Rhinoceros

Planned a show
Treasoned my roots
Ice cream snow
See you in june

Could have known
I would relive
Should have known
I would come see you

Your way she knows
And she knows she knows she knows

Colors show
After long
I should go
See you in june

Open your eyes - to these must I lie?

Yes there's a bunch of editions that came out today: Target, Best Buy, Special, iTunes and Regular. Each one has a different B-Side that they put in where it would normally fit in the album.

I got the Best Buy one because it has Death From Above on it. Good song.

Yeah, I've been getting mixed reviews on the Pumpkin boards too.

What people are having a hard time seeing is that ALL the SP's stuff is different from ALL they're other stuff. Gish does NOT sound like Siamese Dream. Machina does NOT sound like Pices.

So I don't get why all these people think that Zeitgeist is some sort of throwback to all their old stuff. It's SUPPOSED to be new and different. Thats what they do.

Yeah that's true. Plus I can't think of any Pumpkins album that got all great reviews. Even though I think that most of their albums are great in their own way.

Yup. I think it all comes down to which one of their sounds you like best. I prefer Siamese Dream and BC's Zwan stuff.

Zeitgeist is all new. It's good. It's got heavy when I want heavy, and light when I want light.

Before Zeitgeist came out, my friend told me he thought it would "Probably have about five good songs, and the rest will just be alright." I have to say, after multiple listens, that he was pretty much spot-on. The first three songs - "Doomsday Clock," "7 Shades of Black," and "Bleeding the Orchid" - are all very solid Pumpkins tunes with, of course, great drumming, standard Corgan lyrics, and sonic guitars. A fair amount of the rest of the album sort of stagnates. "United States" for example is a typical Billy Corgan exercise in indulgence (almost 10 pointless minutes long) and "For God and Country" is pretty much needless and overly political. (How much of American music since Bush has taken office has become needlessly political?) "Starz" is a nostalgic attempt at tongue-in-cheek humor.

But back to the good stuff. "Neverlost" is I think the most dynamic song on the album - good hook, good lyrics, good musicianship. If the album was fill of songs like that, it'd be a classic. "Stellar" is "Starla"-esque at its best.

Overall, pretty good effort. It's no Siamese Dream, but it has its moments.

I give it a 7/10.
