I LOVE the new Thor series.
When he kicked the living crap out of Iron Man for what he did during the Civil War was my one of my all time favorite comic book moments.

Iron Man says something like "I don't remember you being so tough" and Thor replies "I was always holding back" I couldn't stop laughing.
Not laughing in a funny way but in a "damn that's what I always thought I'm glad someone else finally wrote it" kinda way.

And the frog thing was amusing damn-it, it's a comic book after all!

And they actually paid a little homage to it just before Thor "died" beating Onslaught. The frogs in the park came out to say goodbye.
I thought it was a cute touch in an otherwise horrible Thor story line.

It was more about Thor the god, than about Thor the superhero (as it was the case in other situations). The battle between Thor and Jormungandr was amazing - and it really captured the feeling of foreboding that something horrible was about to happen to Thor. And that's only one of the great moments he gave Thor...
Yeah, that battle was awesome! And him, Loki, and Odin vs Surtur too!! ("For Asgard!" "For Midgard!" "For myself." Gotta love Loki! But damn, when Thor spun Mjolnir in a couple panels, fire and crap flying off!! And when it all began, with Odin weilding his sceptre, keeping Surtur out.

And Odin, Vili, and Ve first meeting Surtur!

And hey, how about the story about Baldur, and the one with Skurj!

And...!!!

Really great job he did with the Norse stuff!

maybe a cosmic series with Thor would get him out and about? I'd like to see him take on the Imperial Guard.

Thor and Gladiator fought in an alternate future in FF when Simonson was doing the book. They were interrupted before either could be said to be winning.

Reminds me, I hate the way Gladiator is usually handled. He starts out as this massive powerhouse. Another Marvel Superman. But then they decided they needed to use him to test every other character, and show how powerful they are by having them beat Gladdy. So Cannonball defeats Gladiator?

There was an awesome (to me anyway) What The? issue.
It had Marvel characters against DC.
One page had Superman and Thor grappling in a test of strength.
To prove that he was more powerful Thor said he was "a God drawn by a mortal named Simonson".
Superman countered with "But I am a mortal drawn by a God named Bryne!"
Then Thor gulped in fear or something.
I always thought that was so funny.
It's been stuck in my head for years.

Look what I found.
