I've called people on the expression "grammar Nazi" as well, Syl.

I defended Ms Mary on this because dAN was completely disregarding her feelings. She had already expressed an issue and instead of considering her feelings he belittled them. That's what I was objecting to.

perhaps could have been stated better as well. I would think:

"I know you think this is funny, but it really bothers me ... I'd appreciate it if we avoided such comments." might have been gentler.

I really dont understand how people can get offended by jokes, i mean, seriously, someone found it funny ( aka me ), mabye its just me but i dont see how its causing offence to anyone - alive or dead.
