Usivius wrote:there was a run when JRjr was pencilling and (darn, can't remember name) was writing. It was really good! There was a whole cross-over bit with 'hell on earth' that was AMAZING! great art and writing!

Anyone remember this ?...
Yeah, I remember that run. It was a bit far out, but definitely one of the better runs. I also liked the D.G. Chishchester/Scott McDaniel 'Fall from grace' run (319-325), and pretty much all of the 2nd series so far, especially the Kevin Smith/Joe Quesada run to start this series.

Oh Baby!!!! I can't even list all the incredible moments in that story!!! The scene with Cap; No more -- Stop being clever -- No more --; "Nothing. I've lost nothing," Matt said, and laughed like a boy.; getting pummeled by Kingpin; "Pleasure to hear your voice, Daredevil."; etc; etc; etc.

But one of my favorite panels of art in all of comics is where he breaks the chain on the punching bag, and is standing over the bag. The art alone is amazing, but, when you add how he must feel at that moment! His strength and health returned; the state of mind that we come to learn he has gained...

Oh man...

"There is no corpse."

And the scene with Urich on the phone as the cop gets beaten to death by that butch nurse, while the Bugle staff mills around, was cinematic, to say the least.

Possibly the best graphic novel I've ever read.

How old is the GN? Who is the creative team? Is that the Miller stuff from the early 90's?

It's Miller, but the comic run was in '86. Maybe the GN was early '90's.

Miller wrote it, Dave Mazzucchelli did the art. Same team as Batman: Year One if you read that. (And if you didn't, you now have two things to get. And Mhoram, if you haven't read B:YO...)
