I've actually seen this band live, they have a cult following among people who went to University about 30 years ago (i.e. my parents' generation). Some of their 'hits' include Dickie Davis Eyes and All I Want For Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit, which results in a lot of their fans turning up to gigs in said football kit.

I can also confirm that Guns is right about 10cc's name, I remember them being asked that question in an interview for Q.

Some of my favourite real band names are The Dandy Warhols, Daft Punk (taken from an early review which dismissed their music as just that), The Raveonettes and Godspeed You Black Emperor! The outright daftest though, has to be Crispy Ambulance.

The Wort name I can think of is that Boy Band:

5ive.

You're supposed to pronounce it : Five
But I can't help calling them Five-ive
