I haven't decided on a sheathe knife yet, but I did pick up an Emerson Raven-B, and that will MORE than do, untill I decide to do some more heavy duty camping.

I am ashamed to say that my current knife is *cringes* an Eddie Bauer 2 inch folding blade with a serrated edge. It was the first thing I saw when I had to get a new knife after my truck (and my straight blade) got stolen, so I picked it up. I just needed any knife, at that point, and now I can't afford to go look for something better.
Surprisingly enough, the thing is more ergodynamic than I expected. Made for opening right-handed, it opens almost as easily with the left hand. The serrated part is holding an edge well, but the rest of the blade not so much. It's also very loud when it snaps open, but it's better than nothing, I guess.*sigh*
I think I'll take youe advice, Cail, and go buy myself a Gerber when I have the money for it...
