I still answer Darth's chat summons when the occasion arises. You're all sooo harsh on the guy!

Come on, admit it: during his heyday here, the Watch experience wasn't truly complete until one had conversation with Darth Revan in Chatbane.

Sometimes I'm hidden, sometimes not. It's just that when I'm visible and I see my name in green, it fills me with a maniacal sense of modly power. I have to get up from the computer and slap myself a few times before I can sit down and resume browsing the Watch.

Can the Mods and Admins tell if someone is hidden or not?

Mods, no. Admins, yes.

Heh. True enough. Alas, I don't do all that much chatting. And Chatbane was unworkable for me back then with my dialup, so I almost couldn't. But even though I almost always ignored them, Darth's chat pm's were always good to get!

I have never had a problem on the ChatBane with my dial-up. But, I've only recently started using it...

I've never had anything but trouble with the Chatbane on dial-up or broadband. It's a nightmare.

ChatBane has always worked for me. And I still get Chat PM's from Darth. Never bothered to hide myself. I don't have a problem saying no if I'm too busy or whatever.

I haven't even tried to use chatbane in so long.

Although I can't get chat to work with those on MSN instead of Yahoo...

Chatbane doesn't work here at the office, so I always had to decline.

Well, I mean, it's not that I HATE you... I mean, seeing as how I'm drinking right now, and I think my eyes just turned the colour of an old fang, I'm pretty sure I'm channeling Lord Foul. Which means I probably despise everyone. So it's not like I'm singling you out or anything...

Aliantha, there could be a simple (if lousy) reason why we don't often send out chat PMs: unlike the brazen Darth ( ), the rest of us don't wish to be put in a position of being turned down.

And there's the other side of it...to deliberately misquote one Saltheart Foamfollower: "There is power in Chat PMs. I do not wish to be invoked by any but friends."
