Mortice--I noticed that with Mystery being more analytical for the guys too. I wish we could see him and/or his wingmen in action, just for a comparison. Next week ought to be a good one. I think you might be right about Brady.
Ok...I have to admit something and it isn't easy to do. I've also been watching that silly Brett Michael (Poison singer) show in VH1. I don't usually watch that kind of show, but I somehow got hooked (I blame it on lack of Lost). Anyway, the girls on that show are so mean to one another and the difference between watching the guys on Pickup Artist compared to the girls on Rock of Love is astounding. Last night, those guys cried about one of them going home. Those girls sure don't do that. And did you notice that Kosmo and Joe D were holding hands? How sweet is that? Of course, the difference may be that the girls are competing for the attention of one man and the guys are competing to better themselves (and apparently money too). I don't know.....it is just cool to see a show like the Pickup Artist that encourages self-improvement and increasing self-confidence compared to a show in which women degrade themselves to compete for this rock star.

Whew... I thought I might have been the only one. Although I started watching it cause I used to be a big Poison fan back in the day (which may be an even more embarassing admission than the fact that I watch the show...). Anyway, I really agree with you. The contrast between the way the cometitors act on the two shows is pretty striking. And really I would have expected the same bad behavior from the guys on Pick-up Artist that the girls exhibit. It's very refreshing that it's not like that.

This sounds pretty cool. When is it on???

Brinn--it comes on at 9pm on Mondays. But they re-run it too during the week (but thanks to a new firewall at work, I can't check those times). It is almost to the end of the season...I do hope they have another one.

I'll check for it online. Thanks for the heads up KiGirl!

ok mortice...i have to know your opinion...who do you think brett will choose?

Who's the
better choice? Well that's Jess, obviously.

She seems a little more stable. And classier actually (not that it's difficult). I don't have high expectations for Bret's desicion making process, though. But my money's on Jess. What do you think?
And pick-up artist? Kosmo or Brady? (Brady, all the way, as far as I'm concered.)

yea, i know what you mean. i am hoping for jes b/c i think she is a genuine sort of person. she doesn't come across as desperate or willing to give up who she is for bret. but...i feel like he will go for heather. he's said more than once about being on the verge of falling in love with her and she got that stupid tattoo (not that there is anything wrong with a tattoo...i just felt like she did it to win the contest and might regret it if he doesn't choose her). also, he hasn't slept with heather yet which makes me wonder if he will want to go with want he hasn't had. but this is all fun and worthless speculation.
i'm thinking brady too! i like brady and i think he can become a master pickup artist.

Brady's alright, but I'm rooting for Kosmo. His negs are less harsh and more playful, and he comes off a little more genuine, imo.

...wondering...as perhaps I'll get to see this later...if it is time for me to step out of this thread so it's not spoiled for me...

I'm sorry...I didn't think of that. I promise that I will do that spoiler thing if we talk about who won.

Menolly-
Whoops. My bad too. I'll be better in the future.
Syl-
You're right about the negs, although I don't think Brady means to be harsh. He comes across as a nice guy overall, so maybe it's inexperience/nerves.

No need to apologize guys. I'm one of those rare birds who does not have either cable t.v. or high speed access. But, I don't expect y'all to keep track of that.

i like posting here so much better than the tank....
anyway, i agree with you mortice about your assessment of brady/kosmo. i like both guys though. they both seem like nice guys who just have a hard time with girls. i wish that none of them had to be eliminated but i guess it wouldn't be a game otherwise.

I avoided the 'tank for the longest time. And I still only mostly lurk on a few threads.
But...that's me. Others seem to thrive on that type of interaction. I'll hang out more on the rest of the Watch (especially The Galley, JKR forum, and The Pantheon)...

From some rumors I'm reading, it looks like the show is largely faked. Not that it's not entertaining or can give some insight, but... First Bear Gryllis and now this. *sigh*

oh!!!! no!!!! that sucks. i know that a lot of people who are interested in becoming actors/actresses end up on these reality shows to get noticed, but NO!!! and you know, i thought i saw brady on some weight loss commercial the other day, but i thought maybe the guy just looked like him, but maybe it was him.
even if it is faked, i still think that guys learn about how to approach women with more self confidence by using the mystery method.
(edit) so the man vs wild show if faked too? my son always preferred the other survival show, survivorman. maybe he sensed it.

this is what i found on wiki
"Soon after the show appeared it was discovered that contestant Alvaro (aka "Kosmo") is an actor[1] although the VH1 episode guide continues to present Alvaro as being a computer game programmer[2]."
the wiki article doesn't say anything about the other contestants.
