Maybe there's a *reason* that Linden can't get a snappy acronym. . .
To quote SRD who was paraphrasing Lester del Rey, "You can't have a Tarzan novel with Jane as the main character!"
There. I've said my piece. Now I'd better get out of here, as it looks like I'm outnumbered by Linden lovers. . .

Don't be intimidated by their superior numbers on this thread. Remember that the masses are often misguided. From what I can see, your heart is in the right place. And as you read FR, I pray you will not allow yourself to be swayed by the fact that Linden cries less. …And I really don’t think that’s a spoiler because we should have seen it coming, anyway. You see, every human being on this planet has what I like to call a “tear quota.” If Linden existed in real life (the thought is nauseating, I know, but stay with me for a second), she would have surpassed her tear quota long ago – probably at some point during TWL. The only reason Linden doesn’t run out of tears until FR is that these are fantasy novels. No “real life” person could have maintained such a pathetic weeping habit as long as Linden did. Why did Linden finally lose the ability to sob incessantly? Only SRD knows for sure. Maybe he realized that, despite the fact the Chronicles are fantasy, many readers were losing their ability to “suspend their disbelief” about Linden’s seemingly endless capacity for emotional breakdowns.Turiya wrote:Poor, doomed souls.

So don’t let the decreased amount of crying confuse you. Do not abandon your convictions. Remember: Linden still an unconscionable witch. (And a pscycho who murdered her mother with a bunch of Kleenex.)
