I hear that with the writers strikes, they are scratchnig the origins thingy, and possibly are going to end the season after the next couple of episodes. However, I'm too lazy to go confirm the rumors.

This season is in 2 parts, with the current story arc to conclude in (I think) 3 more episodes. The 2nd half of the season will resume after the usual hiatus with a new arc.

Finale was an alright ep. Only one thing bothered me about it: Why did Peter have to stand for ten mintues straining to force the door open? He can walk through walls, for f*ck's sake.

Once again, the plot requires selective memory. If Peter walks into the vault with Adam, Nathan can't talk to him. More accurately, if the vault isn't opened, it's secrets aren't available to Nathan, and he can't make that fatal decision.

Speaking of which, is Peter's blood as effective as Claire's and Adam's?

What bothered me was where Hiro put Kensei. Will he ever die, even there? Talk about hell. That seemed a bit dark for Hiro.

I'm pretty sure Adam will be back at some point... even if it is as a desperate attempt to claw back ratings 7 seasons down the line...

Uhg, I was suspending Judgment on season 2 (er rather, this story arc) until I saw the whole thing. In the end, I thought it was reasonably dissapointing.

The confrontation between Hiro and Adam was really unclimactic, Peter acted not only irrationally, but somewhat stupidly, Noah is back with the company (uhg! Return to status quo is a BAD sign) and probably killed Nathan (who else!) Making his death and rebirth a total sham, Niki is dead under somewhat silly circumstances (what was the point of her subplot anyway!), and Silar is back...

Meh.

There are a few things known about the next volume...

-Nathan will live or die depending on fans' reactions (looks like it'll be "live").
-Adam will be back. (Which kind of makes his ending this time pointless.)
-Ali Larter is still in the next arc--some rumours say it'll be as Jessica, not Nikki.
-They'll introduce a new big villain.
-There'll be a death of a main character.

One of the mistakes I think the show makes is keeping characters that were supposed to die alive just because they were a hit with the fans. Sylar is an example of that.

Really, I was fine as long as they didn't kill Hiro. But they are walking a fine line here with trivializing so many deaths. They really should have the balls to just get up and say. "No, this character is dead and they aren't coming back. (and not just because they got a better job!). It would really be better for the show in the long term.

Seasone 2 is very disappointing. Adam never had the kind of intensity as the villian that Sylar had last season.

Sorry for the long post, I have managed to watch all of the first part of season 2 now.

I had it on disc and watched it in three or four days, so I think I was spared the frustration felt by many regarding the dragging.

I had similar problems with Lost: in some episodes not a lot really happened, and as a result felt like a "filler".

I actually enjoyed this season (maybe not quite as much as the first).

I thought that Peter, Nathan, Matt, Mohinder, Hiro, HRG and Claire had pretty good plotlines.

The others were more distracting than anything else. I can imagine that they may become good after a while (but, I was hoping that the Nikki/DL/Mica story in season one would and it never really fulfilled its potential).

Eventually Sylar became interesting again, but predictably so.

I did find the electricity-girl (Elle?) very annoying, but also I think she added to the story of the Company (her dad's experiments etc.).
As her last scene showed, it could make for an interesting plotline if she chose to battle Sylar (or maybe side with him?).

I hadn't realised that the producers were taking so much notice of what the fans said. It makes sense to correct mistakes in the telling of the story (ie. the plot is dragging), and thankfully they did seem to make it flow pretty well at the end.
As for bringing back the dead due to popular demand:
some of us probably thought that Boromir shouldn't have died, but I don't think it would have improved Lord of the Rings if he had lived.

Oh well, another few months at least until I can see what happens next.
