A hymn to Brid
He walks he does not run
He has no overwhelming need to fly
His heart remains unbroken
no need to search the sky
But me I’ve found that place
I wander recklessly ..and
I know that she will find me
I know that she will find me
Even if I vanish without trace
O and though I’m running blindly
I know that she will find me
Hiding with the shadows that I chase
No-one can rock his boat or make standing
waves upon his sea
Everything is calm and even steady safe
as it can be
But me I’ve never found that place
I wander recklessly …but
I know that she will find me
I know that she will find me
Even if I vanish without trace
O and though I’m running blindly
I know that she will find me
Hiding with the shadows that I chase
Sometimes we search too deep
that’s when the darkness feeds our fear
We turn away from one another
just in case we get too near
Me I stand this mountain top
I shout so she can hear …and
I know that she will find me
I know that she will find me
Even if I vanish without trace
O and though I’m running blindly
I know that she will find me
Hiding with the shadows that I chase

hmmmm, i
liiiike this mortal
Living with the Law
Brother runnin' powder money
Daddy somewhere on a drunk
In the hours after washing
I do my dreaming with a gun
Well I come down from the country
Find a lesson in the draw
There ain't no secrets in the city
It's hard living with the law
They got machines mama I can't figure
They got a romance made for doing time
Send me out child, running outside
Out along a world of crime
Gonna swing my scythe, got a hand upon the handle
Gonna shade my children ways I understand
Milk the trigger, kill the hunger
Staring down this broken land
So fetch on up your greasy apron
Spread your lover in the straw
Hear me baby, I'm nearly crazy
It's hard living with the law

You think the love you never had might save you
But true love takes a little time
You can touch it with your fingers
And try to believe your eyes
Is it love or lies
So you're keeping your distance
A little bit of room around you
But if she doesn't return your call on time
Oh my my
You just act like a fool on a holiday
There's nothing that you wouldn't try
You must be a prisoner in disguise
Well this night life is my life
But there's no one else in it
And sometimes those lonesome breezes blow
But it's no show so you might as well go
If you think you could win it
Without losing and letting it show
The city is no place to hide in
Everybody knows your number
And you know that you could never be alone if you tried
You just run like a man with no reason to run
And no place to ever arrive
You must be a prisoner
Look just like a prisoner
Well you must be a prisoner in disguise

Another one for Ez:
We are people of the mighty
Mighy people of the sun
In our hearts lie all the answers
To the truth you can't run from.
(Sorry but the rest of the song didn't really fit but I thought the chorus was dead-on)

What is that actually from? It seems familiar.
And, yep, that warriors song is surely gay. The interlude has had me in stitches twice now.

One I
don't expect to be singing to Ez.
The Beatles
I need to laugh and when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about
I feel good in a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine
We take a walk, the sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine
Then we'd lie beneath the shady tree
I love her and she's loving me
She feels good, she knows she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine.
Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine, Good Day Sunshine

And this one's for Unzen,
Grass grows greener
On the other side
Corn grows sweeter
On the other side
And I watch, And I watch, And I watch
And I see too much
And I broke my face
And my head grows too much
God spits
On my soul
There's something dead inside my hole
In my hole
In my hole
In my hole
I step crueller
But less defined
Striped cats cooler
But so refine
And I want to see
What I want to be
And I see me on a toxic screen
And I'm dancing to a scream
God spits
On my soul
There's something dead inside my hole
In my hole
In my hole
In my hole
How can something crawl within
My rubber holy baked bean tin
It's god to me, it's god to me
This is heart and soul
Oh, heart and soul
Yeah, heart and soul
Oh, heart and soul
Oh, heart heart heart heart and soul
Heart and f***ing soul
My heart and soul
My heart and soul
My heart and soul
Heart and soul
Heart and soul
Yeah heart and soul
Yeah heart heart heart heart heart

Ah! For Dagon.
The Little River Band
If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear waters
There's lots of those friendly people
Showin me ways to go
And I never want to lose your inspiration
Time for
a cool change...
I know that it's time
for a cool change
Now that my life
is so pre-arranged
I know that it's time
for a cool change
Well I was born in the sign of water
And it's there that I feel my best
The albatross and the whales
they are my brothers
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Starin' at the full moon
like a lover
Time for
a cool change...
I know that it's time
for a cool change
Now that my life
is so prearranged
I know that it's time
for a cool change
Well I've never been romantic
And sometimes I don't care
I know it may sound selfish
But let me breathe the air
If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear waters
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon like a lover
Time for
a cool change...
I know that it's time
for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time
for a cool change

Another one for Eztlicoatl:
Akhnaten
As Akhnaten's conception of the Atun is one of the two original inspirations for Eztlicoatl, this seems appropriate to me. That, and it's damned brilliant.
Also from the same opera. Good music to sacrifice to the sun by, methinks:
The Funeral of Meerkunkhamen

The first time I ever heard the name Akhnaten was in the comic book Dreadstar. Extremely powerful, and a pretty cool character. Even if he did destroy the Milky Way galaxy, then get killed by the enraged Dreadstar.

Don't know the comic. For me, he's always the revolutionary Egyptian Pharoah who tried to start the world's first monotheistic religion, and eventually wound up dead for his efforts.

That's where I know the name from!!
Also the first that encouraged his artists to use realistic perspective, yes?

That's true. Depictions of the pharoah which are still extant show him in all his royal,
inbred glory. Which only goes to suggest that his wife, Nefertiti, must have been one of the most beautiful women of history as - if she was depicted just as realistically - her busts and images etc are captivating.
