I post on some homebrewing forums, and ratebeer.com, but not much. I used to participate in some philosophy boards, but strangely, that got really heated and personal. There was this one guy Malbus who had some real problems . . . he'd challenge people to public debates which he liked to think of as sort of mental "gladiator battle" (his words) in the "arena" of philosophy. Usually, he didn't know what he was talking about and clearly had a limited education, and he'd make fun of anyone who actually used stuff like quotes from real philosophers to make their point. He was extremely abusive, and led a small gang of sidekicks who helped him berate people they didn't like (or people that threatened his status as alpha-philosopher).

Anyway, I wanted to copy some of my old posts, so I did a search for the guy's name, since I couldn't find the message board anymore. It turns out that he liked to play poker online, and had quickly developed enemies in poker forums. It was hilarious reading people's complaints about him. They *hated* him. If you can make enemies playing poker, you're a world class d*ck.

I don't want to put out the effort to try and find another good community. This is the only one I need. I like it here.

I've been spending a lot less time at the other places I visit in the last few months. I mostly read and don't post. That said, those places are: FantasyBookSpot, SFFWorld, and Malazan Empire.

KW is the first message board I ever joined and is the only one that is focused on SRD. I post regularly.
After KW I joined The Outercaves (been posting a lot lately) and then I joined Ahira's Hanger (mostly in the NFL picks thread. AH is very author focused outside of the sports forum and since I only seem to read SRD and GRRM I'm a bit lost there.
Shortly after that I joined SF-Fandom.com which very wide ranged in topics however I very infrequently post there these days.
Lastly I made up my own forum (Glurpworld) were I naturally spend a good amount of time. I have a forum there for my extended family so it has more of a personal feel to it.
Jay needn't worry. aTOMiC has time for it all. :-)

I used to be fairly heavily involved in a message board devoted to Civil War buffs but the flamers ran me off. It's KW only for me now.

KW was my first board and always the best. The Orion Project was probably the wildest forum I was ever on-devoted to making Sci-Fi reality, lots of phsyicists, transhumanism stuff, but I could never get the reply email turned off and it seriously clogged my mail. So I had to quit-I need to quit the Mickey Rourke forum too as it does the same thing.

I also quit the A Song of Ice and Fire Board as people were starting to say alot of nasty things, and some were taking non-supported, ridiculous shots at SRD. Right now I'm an I need to post haven't been to Glurp World or FastasyBookSpot in a long timer. Aside from Watch and Hangar I frequent Fantasy Fanatics-a fantasy sports board.

Just here. And the Hangar, but I haven't been there in ages (sorry, danlo...).

I used to be on a simple living board, but my life got too complicated, har har. Seriously, some people would get kinda nasty to folks who weren't, in their opinion, living green enough. And there was one guy who would say provocative stuff and then, when somebody tried to set him straight, would get belligerent about it. And if you called him on *that*, he would say he was just trying to start a discussion. Plus he was always recruiting folks to the nudist lifestyle. Thank the gods that board didn't have the facility to post pictures; I'm sure he and his wife woulda been an eyeful. 8O

I would feel bad if I hadn't been on other message boards before I came to KW. ;) And now I post less frequently on those other message boards than I do here. (Not that that's saying much, in my case. :P)

Edit: Lookie! A non-Santa smilie! :D

I am a member of rantbastard.com but I haven't been on in ages. :P The only reason I joined was because I was trying to help James get it rolling. :)

I did a gamut of LOTR forums a while back....

now (if it's not here) I'm on GateWorld, the MAJOR (a Joe Flanigan site), Skiffy, and LiveJournal. Also visit Joe Mallozzi's blog for updates and goss on SG & Atlantis.

I wish I could mention the other forums I'm on, but my identity must be kept a closely guarded secret. The fate of the free world rests very disturbedly on my shoulders.

That and I don't think empornium.us (NSFW) counts as a forum.
