by the sound of it...he seems to have "Runes" done??? or just about?? Hopefully, while it's in editing..he'll have the second one almost done...so we won't have to wait so long.
TYPE FAST MR DONALDSON!!!!

I was too busy scribbling to fall out of my chair but I did have to scrape my jaw off the floor afterwards.
SRD got to the read a bit earlier than we expected and caught us discussing Ravers. He spit out the sanskrit names as he sat down, and then make a quip that he would probally lose a TCTC trivia contest in an instant. Like ringthane said in his thread, Donaldson said that he had not reread the Chrons in a long time, but this time he saw many more positves than flaws. He said he said to himself, "Damm this guy is good!" and didn't know how he could top himself. He said he was worried that he would be in competition with himself. However, he felt that 20 years of being away from the Chronicles and believing he really has something to say could make these four books even better. As oppossed to writers under a deadline, or those who keep on writing a series after it has run it's course, thus losing their edge. He basically said some healthy competition with himself is good as long as he can continue to develope himself as a writer and pull all the complex elements together as simply, and as understandable, as possible.
After the read, aside from what ringthane has said, he said that one of the reasons he has taken his time seeking out and editor is personal control. He said that after book 2 of the Gap Series he signed a major contract for the next three books. He felt that the next 2-3 years were the most miserable time of his life and that he would never go though that again.
That's basically it (see the Bubonicon thread for suplementary comments he made during his panel appearance, booksigning and reaction to Elohim-fest, there is (or will be, about 1 hour from now) an additional TOT tidbit there too, btw.)

Wow, this stuff sounds pretty good (although it seems slightly more action-based than I would have liked from the chrons - TC is usually psychological more than physical action), and I can't wait to read it. I'm running out of books to read, so I'm glad so many good authors are going to be putting out more work in the next few years, because atm I'm just left re-reading WoT...
I hope he keeps the title 'Shall Pass Utterly' for book 3, cos that is a great sounding title...

Well done.
I can see that I have to be a bit more vigilant next March when I see SRD at ICFA, you've just raised the ante on the quality of reporting back to the Watch.
Thanks for the info, it's nice to know my memory's not foggy (with regards to Linden and the autistic adopted child) after all this time.

Danlo... I wish it was something simple like arrogance that keeps me from posting more... at least I'd have free time.
I'm starting the third year of my Ph.D. in Telecommunications in two weeks. Right now, I'm posting this during a break (which I shouldn't really be taking, but my brain demanded one) in studying for my comprehensive examinations, the third of which I have at 10am tomorrow.
I constantly read the various posts and responses here, several times a week in fact. I'm just usually too fried to feel I could put together any response coherent enough to be worth reading by the rest of the Servants.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I'm continually impressed by the thoughts and insights of the group here, thus... unless I have something really good to say, I usually just lurk and enjoy. So please don't take my silence as a slight. When I read what you all write, it provides me some much needed creative speculation. It's like hurtloam for my brain, if you will.
