By the way, the person depicted in both of the bottom two options is Titania, Queen of Faeries. She is sleeping in the wood. . .not passed out drunk. :P

Yes, I agree with that. That was my initial impression, when I first saw numbers 2 and 3.

Ok, you have to admit, a fairy from midsummer night's dream is more likely to be drunk than most other fairies.

Yeah. . . 'tis possible. I'm not sure why both artists portray her as laying/sleeping in the wood. . . but it seemed like a good match for my username and location. ;)

I'm voting for #3, but they're all quite nice.

Wasn't an important part of A Midsummer Night's Dream Titania having a potion put on her while she was asleep so that she would wake up and fall in love with someone else?

Yes. Then she woke up and the first thing she saw was a man with a donkey's head.

They should paint that instead.

That would certainly be amusing. :)

Yeah, well, the only women I've stumbled across sleeping in the forest still wearing the clothes from the night before were passed out drunk. Either get a tent, or sleep nekkid like a real fairy. :)

(Think "assatar".) :)

Let's just say that, when a guy gets married, it seems all of the women whom he used to dream of one day finding start showing up all over the place. :)

Same thing happened to me when I got engaged -- suddenly all these former boyfriends called me from out of the blue. It's like you're sending out pheremones or something.

I forgot that she was given a potion. . . for some reason I forgot that she went to sleep. I took a Shakespeare course in college, and that was one of the very few plays we did not actually read. . . (I think we did watch the movie instead).

Wow. . . memory must be going. 8O

I'm still pleased that av #3 is leading.

Nope, I have nothing wittier to add. Never read A Midsummer Night's Dream.

But I did see A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy.

I'm please that so many people are taking an interest. :D

And I've never watched the movie you mention, MM. Is it any good? :)

Um...it's a Woody Allen movie. That fact will either interest people right away or turn them off completely. Heh.

I actually don't remember much of the film. I only saw it once and that was years ago. But I'm pretty sure I laughed my head off at some points.
