I have been told the "HP" we earn on the Watch for posting in Gravin Threndor stands for "Hit Points." But that is the only time I have ever heard the term...

RIP GG.
D&D got me into fantasy as well - my first DM was the one who lent me LOTR (aged 12). I used to spend months making up campaigns based on the war rules in the 3rd set of D&D rules - can't remember the name now oops! Then when I bought the AD&D books, even longer having tournament knock-outs between all the beasties in the Monster Manual & MMII.
As a teenager i loved his 'Gord the Rogue' books, though they were completely spoilt for me by the last one in the series. (the only book I have ever literally thrown out a window
)
A man that invented 'half-elf druids' amongst so much else deserves another roll of the dice!

He should be buried in a coffin that looks like a giant 20 sided die.
It is his fault that I got hit in the eye with a 10 sided die once upon a time. My friend had a high level mage that he had been playing with for months and on a lark I transmorgofied his character into a caradula(sp?). My friend rolled a 1 on his saving throw and proceeded to throw a die Roger Clemmons style at my head. Those were the days.

D&D has a large dragon listing in its monster manuals, listing the various kinds, their stats, breath weapons, and their alignments, all in D&D game terms. In general, 'color' dragons (white, green, red, blue, black) are of evil alignment, and 'metal' dragons (copper, silver, bronze, gold, platinum) are of good alignment. In D&D, Tiamat is a five-headed 'color' dragon that is evil and sort of the mother of the evil dragons. Bahamut is the platinum dragon that is good and sort of the father of the good dragons.Menolly wrote:*ear perk*Stonemaybe wrote:IIRC it also had the details of the dragon hierarchy - silver pearl gold allthat?

Thank you, dw. This answers a question I've had for a few months now.
Interesting.
