I saw this coming awhile off, as Heston had been diagnosed with Alzhemier's some time ago. Fare-thee-well!

I refuse to believe that assertion. You must pry my refusal from my cold dead fingers...
Sigh. Never thought I'd sink that low. Oh well. I am Lord Foul. What else can I do? Here, give me some puppies to dissect.

No worries mate, I was waiting for
someone to say something like that...
Well, made it to page 2.
Heston was pretty much the embodiment of screen-presence.

I heard about this earlier in the week. I couldn't believe it. He was one of my favorite actors.
RIP Chuck. You will be sadly, sadly missed.

I saw "Touch of Evil" this week for the first time. I figured it was the best way to pay tribute to him. He was absolutely wonderful, there was one scene he was in that really got to me, where Welles' corrupt cop (in an iconic and delicious performance) has framed up Heston's wife on a drug rap to destroy his character's reputation. Heston's character stood out as a paragon of integrity in law enforcement, but with his wife in jeapardy, he stormed the place in a rage and basically beat the crap out of every man inside. Someone cries that he's exceeding his authority as a Cop.
"I'm not a cop now Damnit, I'm a husband! WHERE IS MY WIFE!"
If I can be 1/8 the man Heston was, I will be more than satisfied.

Oh what a great movie.
I'm doing a double bill tomorrow night of Soylent Green and The Omega Man.
