I can't believe people are so, um, passionate(?) about this processed meat product. Sure, I enjoy mustard on my lips-and-assholes, but I'm not going to get finicky about it.

There's nothing wrong with ketchup. Of course, I wouldn't put it on a steak, but it's quite tasty on hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, etc.

I just finished up a Hebrew National frank with my own homemade german-style sauerkraut made (in part) with onions I simmered in beef fat drippings from my new smoker. Wow! That meaty/smokey flavor was soaked up in the onions, and transferred beautifully, though subtly, to the rest of the sauerkraut.

sounds very tasty, but more like goulash or a stew than a hot dog :)

Now, now, now...

Everyone's taste is different, and the world would be a boring place if we all had the same.

But yeah...
Sweet condiments for the young and innocent, I think. ;)

Ooo...now that sounds intriguing, danlo...

Oh yeah? I'm so manly, I put Jack Daniels on everything. Sometimes I eat my hotdogs with habaƱeros and rusty nails. Heck, sometimes I eat 'em with shrimp tails!

I used to like shrimp tails until someone told me I wasn't supposed to eat them. Kinda like pistachio shells until they started hurting my teeth.

I find the all beef hot dog too greasy.
I prefer the "blend" of meat product hot dog.

And the best hot dog out there is "Fenway Franks" brand hot dog.

I served them at a cookout recently to a group of hot dog snobs and they all loved them.

I like the Best Kosher dog, myself. Great ball park meal. I always get one when I go to see the White Sox.

A Vienna Beef hot dog is pretty good too.

I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but Target's little restaurant section here in Lexington has amazing hot dogs. Big, beefy, juicy. Yum.

Wayfriend, hilarious avatar and tagline, by the way!

OMG SOOO much can go on a hotdog.

Mayonaise; Mircle whip; Mustard; Hot mustard; honey mustard; relish; olives; onions; saurkraut;Hot and spicy BBQ sause.

Although, just a little squirt of Mustard is good too.

MMMmmmmm hotdogs.

I completely disagree. The mustard isn't to add a hotness that the chili lacks, as you suggest. Rather, it's a melding of multiple flavors of exceptional savoriness. Would you say a hamburger doesn't need a bun if the lettuce is good enough? Noooo. Well, same thing. (Try it!)
Bah, I don't put lettuce on my hamburgers so I wouldn't know. Just cheese, ketchup, mustard and a slice of vidalia onion.
