How can you know for sure if they haven't captured the public's imagination? I mean, a lot of the characters on the list may just appeal to younger people.
the young don't read.

Wow, that's even more wrong than your last comment.

you and i both know the list was made with an eye turned towards being cool. mass popularity does not always have to mean lame. the Hulk is a better character than the Thing. Spider Man is better than Wolverine. you know that.

Okay, that sounds like it. Try not to let it happen again, though; we have strict standards here we simply must adhere to, lest chaos take over completely.

I guess that's one of the reasons why most people couldn't figure out what the heck the book was all about.

Well, when you use the word 'Unknown" to describe the main character, you're sort of forced to attempt to confuse the reader, if only to make the book live up to it's billing.

If it didn't look like it was drawn by an epileptic five year old, I might have bought an issue.

Actually, the cover art isn't horrible, but it's a shame the freaking logo guy had the month off........

No way. It DOES look like some kid slapped it together with crayons. Maybe the story is better than the presentation but I'm not going to be able to get past amateur hour on the art.

Englehart's Coyote is a very cool character.

And disregards the rest

I just pulled WAKE by Morvan Buchet - 4. The Sign Of The Demon, and 5. (can't spell) , from the library today. Totally stunned by some of the captions, can't comment on the story as yet.

I grew up on a diet of Beano, Dandy, Topper , Beezer , Sparky, Cracker, Cheeky, Krazy, Hornet, Commando, Victor ,Hotspur, Roy of the Rovers, Shoot, Knockout, Cor, Starblazer, Warlord, Starlord, Whizzer and Chips, Oor Wullie... --- Weird Tales, Dr.Strange, Kung Fu, Iron Man , Mad, Catwoman, F.F. , Hulk, Captain America, Batman and Robin, Spiderman, 2000AD, Judge Dredd, Nemisis, B.C. , the Wizard of Id, Viz...nowadays I use the library and don't remember the names...

Phew! can't do 12 more...I'm off to bed!
