Dang, some of you have 3x as many cars and I've been driving for 30 years. Here is my measly car history. All were well used except for the last two; brand new.

'70 Fiat 128 (right out of drivers class, known in HS as The Box)
'65 Ford Mustang (Never figured out why I sold this, classic)
'76 AMC Gremlin (another classic)
'77 Dodge Van (with bed!, went all over the country with this one)
'90 Chevy Cavilier RS (drove it to death, it died on the way to pick up my next car)
'00 Mustang Convertable (fun to drive, great engine sound)
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

Always loved the Impala, dAN. Seriously. I wish you had never had to get rid of it. The Galaxy was awesome too but it was more of a museum piece since I rarely if ever saw it running. :-)

It ran all the time; I just never drove it, because I was afraid it'd get dinged up like the Impala did. Remember the idiot who hit her while parked at the Luptons? Yeah, I was pretty paranoid about the Galaxie after that incident.

Uhh, what kind of details? It had a 305 engine, and a 3 speed automatic. It was the fastest car I ever owned, but I never took it past 90; the Impala, OTOH, I raced once and got up to 100, and that was all it had. It was only a 2bbl 283; I shouldn't have even tried it that once, but nothing got damaged.

Yeah. Neither of my Cutlass' ran anything like a scalded anything. When new the 76 Salon was supposed to be like a rocket ship (I never saw it in that condition). The 77 ran like a 77 Oldsmobile that was 14 or 15 years old.

dAN: I always remember the trouble you had early on with the Galaxy. Gas tank. Electrical system etc. I guess that's why I remember the thing not running. I know you worked all those problems out and was able to enjoy it for a while.

Electrical system? That's news to me. Gas tank, yes. Rear leaf springs, yes. Buying the car and having to finish putting it back together again, and realizing I was one parts box short, yes. But the electrical system worked fine.

I've never had a car, but I'm only 21 and I still have plenty of time to get one.

Isuzu I Mark

It's funny, I really loved my Fiesta, but I've got a stronger emotional bond to my three motorcycles (the Hondamatic, the Ninja, and now the Hawg) than I've ever had with a car.

Let's see...

My first car as a '68 Oldsmobile Delmont, handed down to me from my parents when they got a new car. It was a lemon...er...a lime. So-called cause my dad and I repainted it green by hand. It had a few drip marks on the paint job. ;)

My stick shifts (my hubby and I prefer standard transmission):
'69 Red VW Bug - I loved that car.
'85 Toyota Tercel Wagon - which my husband is still driving.
'91 Mazda Protege - another good car that was totalled in a 5-car low-speed pile-up (no injuries and we drove home from the accident with everything still working, but the car body was a lost cause).

2005 Hyundai Accent - my first automatic transmission car in years, cause we couldn't find a used car with standard transmission. It was only slightly used and an excellent price and it's turning out to be a very good and reliable little car.

I think part of the reason I didn't like the last Corolla was because it was an automatic. The first Corolla was a 5-speed. So is the Fit.

I didn't learn to drive a stick shift 'til the ex taught me when I was about 27 or so. I just couldn't get the hang of it in driver's ed.

Here's the obligatory pic of my current car, copied from the online ad I saved from the day I bought it:
