Aliantha. I'm a bit disturbed by what you just wrote; rape is NOT sex. As for taking it out or replacing rape with something else? No way. It's intgral to the story (elena). it's either done or it's not.

you cannot replace rape with anything else, 'cause it's symbolic: it is an allegory of what Foul does to the Land

I have given alot of thought to the whole movie idea, my father thinks that if they could do it with LOTR then they can do it with the chrons, but I disagree. I would love to see it in movie form, but I feel that the chrons are so complex and so much of what the story hinges on are not things the masses can swallow easily. I think to many people would become to caught up in things like how convenant is never a true hero, but often more of a anti-hero (in the first crons at least) and would not stick around for the whole story. For some strange reason tho, I have always felt that it could be done very sucessfully in cartoon form. I dont mean like sunday morning cheesey kiddy cartoon, and nothing like the LOTR cartoon, but more like serious animation (like some of the japanamation) or somehting like the final fantasy movie (realistic comp animation) well thats my 2 cents!

I agree, WGW. But heres what I think about a TCTC Movie. After the movie, the Chrons. will be republished with a scene from the movie on the front. That ticks me off. Then every person that has seen the movie will read them and then the Watch will be crowded w/movie-goers, not readers. Thats not cool. No fresco.

Lord Mhoram's words of wisdom still hold years later. It would be a terrible mistake to make a movie of any of the Thomas Covenant books. Donaldson fans, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!
