Why not?

Covenant didn't want to have to actively save the Land, all through the First Chronicles he pretty much looked for people who could do that for him.

So what about the Second Chronicles? I know Linden was offered the ring. And I know that at the end, of course, TC gave it to Foul. But I don't remember any other instances. I'm way overdue for a re-read, but need to re-buy the first six books, as they have fallen apart and are now a pile of loose pages. I wonder if it's worth buying hardbacks, I read them so often....... must ponder further........

By the way, check out my new avatar, especially Blackhawk, who is planning a drawing of The First. This is significantly more in line with my idea of The First. Strong eyes (these are an icy color, really appropriate in my thinking), firm stance, serious attitude. I love this. Luis Royo is an artistic genius. Do a search from Yahoo with his name, then choose Images. You will see some really stunning art work. He is so awesome and his work so realistic. Guys will dig it the most............

TC never offered the ring to a Giant, did he? Except Foamfollower at the very beginning. Wonder why.....

I will search if I find time, but for the benfit of those like me with aging memories somewhere on another thread someone was kind enough to capture all the incidents of TC offering the ring to others. I believe Morham and Hile Troy were on the list in addition to Foamfollwer, too.
