My favorite soundtrack will always be Rocky. I also loved the soundtrack for Dances With Wolves.

Oooo very good one.
Having not thought of that one, but HAVING thought of this question many times over my years (especially while in University), I always thought the best soundtrack to my life would be the album by YES: "Tales from Topographic Oceans".
I remember having this on my Walkman and just wandering around campus, being introverted and thinking of my life...

I don't own many soundtracks, but since I really like Peter Gabriel I bought Birdy years ago. It's pretty cool--he manages to incorporate some songs from his previous albums as instrumentals on this one.
My wife owned The Craft soundtrack when we met and I ended up listening to that quite a bit. I don't remember all of the songs, but I know Heather Nova covers I Have the Touch(Gabriel), and Love Spit Love covers How Soon is Now(Smiths). Siouxsie, Matthew Sweet and Portishead all have decent songs on the album.

The Big Lebowski.
I have no idea why that movie has taken off so much with my generation, but I'm not complaining. It's one pretty amazing soundtrack.

Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and Good Morning Vietnam have great soundtracks.

OOoh Good call on Once Upon a Time in the West. Definitely my favorite western of all time, and possibly Morricone's best work.
