Lady Revel's nearly due east and a titch south of me on the coast, IIRC Cheval.

South would be Ocala.

OK...I just looked at the 11 PM advisory.
No wonder the schools closed...

Tracks been moved back south.

8 PM Thursday.
From what I can tell on these maps.
That's Gator Town...

Looks like Ocala/Gainsville area is in Fay's crosshairs.
Again, BE SAFE and don't under-estimate the power of Mother Nature.
Although I wouldn't mind being there.
I find extreme weather interesting.
(Future storm chaser?)

11:00 pm - TP Fay is moving due west at 2 mph.
If you hurry, you might walk away from it.

Yeah...
...and it looks like the Hurricane Center changed their minds about her weakening to a depression...

Schools are closed again tomorrow.
What a first week back to school!

So far, other than lots of rain, things have been pretty quiet.
But, the NHC is showing most of the activity on the east side of the storm. That has yet to pass through Gator Town...

Still battening down and riding it out.

You meant gators, right? Gaiters might actually be useful... I saw some pics of the high water in Melbourne -- yikes. Try to stay dry, Menolly....

Well...
UF hasn't started Fall term yet, although the freshman are moving in and the sororities have started Fall Rush.

But, in situations like this, the student community tends to do a lot of volunteer activities for Gator Town. So, these will be good GATORS to be around... ;)

Talk about a day late and a dollar short! I am so touched that you all remembered me! |G

It was mainly a rain event - lots and lots of it! Roads were flooded and closed off, that stunk.

Fortunately, all is well with me, but there were a lot of problems with trees falling....everything was so wet and soaked, I guess the roots just loosened up and fell over, sometimes onto people's homes. :p

All I could think of was how much I missed the sun.....and how depressed the gray and rainy days made me.

Which is rather funny....I moved here from the North East, and it used to rain for two weeks at a time and it never fazed me. Now, I can't even handle five days of rain!

Thanks guys for thinking of me! It really means a lot. :)

Take care!

Wow, I didn't come here during Fay, so I didn't know there was a whole two pages of thread on her.

It was much ado about a lot of rain and very little wind, here in southeast Florida. They delayed the first two days of school in Dade and Broward counties, but I went to work and to my doctor's appointment as usual. Very little traffic on the road. We had a couple of power flickers but no outage, and a brief problem with the phone.

Glad everyone else came through okay.

Now that the winds have subsided,
I can continue to learn flying (crashing) my radio-controlled airplane.
Woo-hoo!
