A really authentic Bama postcard would have a picture of a strip pit coal mine, a trailer park, or a narcotics team tearing down a meth lab but perhaps I can get a good one from a state park or a Cracker Barrel.

When Beorn did Flat Stanley, he sent Stanley to my sister in Pittsburgh. She then forwarded him to a friend of her's out in California. The project only required one picture to be taken of Stanley in front of a landmark. He sent back a packet of over 100 photographs.

I can only imagine what Beorn would have received, had I been a member of the Watch back then...

Y'all truly are good peeps. Image

But then you might as well send one from KY. Kind of misses the point.

(God I love stereotypes.)

Anyway, Ki is away on a business conference, so she probably hasn't checked back here. I just want to say thanks. Great turn out indeed!

I think it's a great project and I love stuff like this. I already planned to nag a few watch people and I already asked some of my non watch international friends/family to send cards as well. Your son should be getting one from England, Australia, Hawaii, Massachussetts, Virginia, Florida and Japan. I hope you don't mind and I guarantee safety considering the England one is Stepgrandmother, Mass peops are friends from High School, Virginia is my Dad and Florida is my sister, Sydney, Oahu and Tokyo are good friends from college. All are people I've known either all my life or for over nine years.

I also think that everyone should send regardless of repeats. You know how kids are in the second grade. They get excited by mail. Every card they get gives a classroom of kids a smile and an inspiration to love education. SEND SEND SEND!!!!

Thanks for your patience and participation, everyone. I don't have the address handy, and Ki is napping after an exhausting trip. We'll get back to everyone either tonight or tomorrow. Jenn, thanks for helping out!

Thank you everyone!!! I just now sat down to write everyone back (even before I checked my personal email). I answered everyone that wrote and it means alot to us to that so many of you want to help out.

When we told Malik Jr tonight about the response from everyone at KW, Malik Jr said, "So, they like me?" Such a sweet little boy. Anyways, I appreciate your patience with me. And a special thank you to CMJ for being such a big help.

But, everything I'm finding is UF oriented.
How well will that go over in Kentucky, Ki?

(I've sent a few today already)

I don't think it matters as far as a time frame. I have a feeling that his teacher is thinking of this as a longer term project.

The Albukooky postcard is on it's way--they'll have fun trying to pronounce that, "Hey it rhymes with turkey!" You don't know how many times we've heard that... 8)
