I think it's easy to consider the issue vague. Nationally or even locally the Patriots aren't referred to as a Boston team. As Dan points out it's either Foxborough or New England. The reference to Boston never comes up.
We know all about that sort of thing though. When do you ever hear the Rays referred to in regard to St. Petersburg?

The Patriots may not be referred to as a Boston sports team nationally, but certainly they're mentioned in the same breath as the Red Sox, the Bruins, and the Celtics. They're part of the same consortium. They are this city's football team in a way that they don't belong to, say, Providence, Rhode Island, or Portland, Maine.

While it certainly may be vague nationally, I can only venture to speak for my part of NY. Here we certainly consider the Pats to be a Boston team. It could be because geography was never my strong suit. Of course since I gew up in PA I am pretty much a Pittsburgh person across the board. Gonna be fun for me locally (one way or the other) when the Steelers play the Giants!
Wow. Bad enough the Phillies are setting records for choking (1-28 w/RISP), but now the umps are pitching in? What's with the strikeout, take 1st base? I missed that rule (and that was pretty plainly a swing). And then the hit by pitch, never mind, its only a ball? So Rays fans can't complain 1 iota about a missed balk.

null, you're so full of shit it's not even funny anymore. Why don't you come back after you get over yourself and accept the fact that the Rays beat the Bosox, not the umpires. Because right now, your ridiculous bitterness is embarassing.

Ah, my Phillies! Its been a while (damn you, Joe Carter!) but I've got my fingers crossed that Hamels can finish off the Rays tonight at home. I only wish I could be in Philadelphia for a bar crawl tonight.

B/c the Phils are cursed. And looks like game 4 was a fluke, w/the Phils actually hitting the ball w/runners on. Howard's back to normal postseason bust.
Rain all day, probably have to finish tomorrow. What would you do if you had a ticket? Should've started last nite at least an hour earlier.

I don't think I've ever watch a Major League game being played in the pouring rain before. It was quite interesting but also frustrating in that it was clear and obvious to everyone that the game would not/could not continue to it's conclusion. At least it paused with a tie.

They should have moved the damn game up...Hamels would have probably been unhitable in decent weather.

Yea, TV is interfering w/reasonable decisions. The forecast called for heavy rain @10:30, so bump the game up.
Kazmir unhittable in decent weather? If the Phils could get hits w/runners on, he would've given up at least 5 runs in Game 1. And it was a repeat in Game 5, bases loaded twice, and 2 on no out another inning, only 2 runs. And its not Kazmir getting himself out of the jam, b/c the Phils had same futility in games 2 and 3.

Don't play the 'if' game with me, dude. 'If' Longoria and Pena were hitting like they did against Boston, we'd be up 3-1, instead of you guys. 'If' can be anything, but in the end, it doesn't count for anything.
