I bought 20 more comics today (£5) and might drop by the book shop again this Thursday, so I'll have plenty of reading for a while.

I've never seen jack staff. I'm not much of a comic collector really. Since browsing these threads it has renewed my interest.sgt.null wrote:are you familiar with jack Staff?
When I asked the shopkeeper why he sells his comics so cheap and in such good condition as well, he said that he can still make money on them and he has a back room filled with boxes and boxes of comics.
I'll ask him if he's seen any jack staff's the next time I drop in.

I grew up in Dundee Scotland, and home of D.C. Thompsons who at one time were the country's biggest distributer of comics. My Gran worked there as a cleaner and would buy her magazines and comics direct. Cheaper that way, before they hit the shops. Whenever I visited her she would have heaps of them waiting for me.
It was only natural growing up I would eventually go on to the hard stuff, like Marvel and D.C. Comics, etc...
Most of the kids comics have now moved to Fleet Street London, but Dundee today still has a great art tradition. Prominent art colleges, lots of galleries, and, plenty of comic dealers.
My favorite characters were always the Moonsters before they went out of print.

Do you own a Dennis stamp?
I picked out two packs of comics (£1) today from a low price bookshop
in town. Thought I would also rate them on art. Haven't read any
yet.
Batman. Black and White. DC. Issue #4. 5/5
Megalith. Continuity comics. Issue #2. 5/5
JLX. Amalgam comics. Issue #1. 4/5
(JLX had 1 in each pack)
Legends of the Dark Claw. Amalgam comics. Issue #1. 3/5
Doctor Strange Fate. Amalgam comics. Issue #1. 5/5

I've also never read any Dennis the (U.S.) Menace comics. But I'd hazard a guess that our Dennis is a lot more of a Menace.
