Don't you get it? The raver uses that name as the na-Mhoram just to spite the Land...

i always assumed that gibbon was his name before the raver enhabited him...
otherwise i dont understand why call him gibbon...
the only other thing i assosiate with gibbons other than birds are those big cages with lots of rocks in

Unless it's some subtle reference to Edward Gibbon, the guy who wrote
Decline and fall of the Roman Empire back in the 18th century.

I'm sure you could find parallells to the "decline and fall" of the Land in the 2nd chronicles, if you really tried...

A gibbon is one of the 4 great apes, gorillas, chimps, gibbons, and orangutans.
That's kind of ironic in it own way...
I'm particularly interested in Loric/krill/demondim angle and the general ancient history associated with the Ranyhyn, Forestals, etc...

never heard of him.... i never cared much for the romans anyway, they always bored me at school, i'd rather be looking out of the window at the trees and the birds... and the occasional rabbit

According to the brief history we are given about the decline of the post-Mhoram Lords
samadhi inhabited more than one High Lord so it's not out of the question that he could have sired and named himself...damm that's a disturbing picture, isn't it?

I've always wondered what name Foul used when he joined the council. It couldn't have been "Foul". The Gibbon theory is kind of creepy for sure!! I also thought maybe it could be some kind of variation of TC's name. That would also be creepy.

danlo, that really is an interesting thought about a samadhi-possessed High Lord fathering the next person he will possess!
There's a comic book immortal named Vandal Savage. He keeps extremely good track of his millions of descendents, so that he knows which are the best blood/tissue matches to him. That way, if he gets injured, he knows which person to take a replacement organ from.

That's also in some fantasy books by Mercedes Lackey, where the evil wizard can only take over the bodies of his descendants, so he makes sure he leaves a bumper crop with each incarnation...
