Fist, I couldn't say for sure, but I bet Wegman's would carry Vegemite (pedantic spelling noted

). Assuming y'all have Wegman's there. I'm pretty sure I've seen it at Harris Teeter, too, if you've got one of those.
Mind you, I wouldn't actually eat the stuff. I'm just saying I've seen it in stores here in the US.

Here's a product I won't be trying. Found it while looking for marmite.

It's not bad. A bit bland.

The one time I tried vegemite (spread thinly on unbuttered toast), I really enjoyed it. I have been unable to find any in the stores since then.

None of those stores are anywhere near me, and I'm wary of buying food online.

I guess this means I need to make a road trip.

I've been putting it on bagels at work from the one jar Sea gave me. I'm nearly out so it sounds like it is time for Sea to come for another visit.
And I like it on the Asiago cheese bagel the most, so I'm not sure what Sea is saying about the plastic cheese being best. Maybe I should try it.

I've had vegemite and I liked it, but it's not something I've ever seen around here.

hmm...
I'm going back decades...
But I recall seeing jars of it for sale in Olivia Newton-John's boutique at Bayside Mall.
I assume that particular store is long gone by now though.
...I don't even know if Bayside Mall is still around.

After Sea's suggestion, I tried marmite and processed cheese on a toasted muffin. It actually worked much better than I expected. I thought it'd be alright but nothing special, yet it turned out that the saltiness of marmite and the smooth blandness of the pretend cheese really complemented each other.

With Vegemite it's a whole different (and even more wonderful) experience! I recommend it to all.
And Caggy, I must send you some more. I'm SO chuffed you've been eating the jar that I left at your place.

From the sound if it, you take something that would be good just as it is, stick some vegemite/marmite (sorry but that DOES sound like a small, predatory animal) on it, and then it's kind of 'okay'. What's wrong with straight butter? Or cheese? Why sitck some salty stuff that came from a yeasty vat all over it?

Oh no. Don't get me wrong: I'll have it just with butter. I LOVE my vegemite!

'Cause the salty yeasty stuff tastes good.
Oh...seriously guys...don't eat processed cheese...that's just wrong. Cheese and marmite is one of the worlds great combinations...like gin and tonic...but use real cheese. At least cheddar.

Nah, vegemite's not salty enough.

Because I like it.

Why stick some lumpy, greasy stuff that was squeezed from a cow's nipple all over it?

So, on an Amazon search, for vegemite, is it significant what comes up third after vegemite and marmite?

I think it's probably telling you that mixing it with a splash of water and putting it in an empty marmite jar would be a workable practical joke, if you were so inclined.
