Yeah, I think everyone here who was taking this a little too seriously needs to loosen up. I mean come on. It's just items in a stupid shop. It's not something to get all worked up over. It's pretty obvious it is just a joke. I personally thought it was funny. So should the rest of you. So just lighten up and give Tuvor a break. Tuvor should probably appologize for fooling all of you, but you all need to appologize to Tuvor as well if you have given him any sort of hard time as a result of this.-jay

P.S. I gave Tuvor the idea for the Store, after he bought everything. I thought it was funny. So if your going to send offensive PMs to anyone, send them to me.-jay

I missed all of this, only just catching up today - but it looks like it was a good laugh - just what this site needs, so as the Highlord says - lighten up, and whoever sent Tuvor that PM - Get a life!

I see all the items back in the shop. The ransom ends.

Not that I want to buy anything... I'm waiting until until the right moment then , BAM; somebody mysteriously has the title "na-Hierachy wisp"

I'm sorry to all those that took this seriously, I never meant to wind you up or to make you think you were being ripped off. I understand why some might get offended if they took it seriously so I won't go on about it, and don't really grudge them; (With the Exception of the HM (Hate Mailer)) Because sending me a PM that is offensive is over the top, and completely uncalled for.

I don't want to cause trouble by naming that HM, because look what happened the last time there was trouble between members and conflicts in posts. But if I receive another one from that person, I will tell Jay.

I understood it was a joke (sorry, I still think it was a retahded one ;) )and all would be returned shortly (I'd hoped so, at least), but I can't really blame people, especially the Watch's underpriveleged, for feeling that it was unfair. It'd be like Bill Gates buying all the pants in Seattle. Sure, those that already have all the pants they need wouldn't be too upset, but the guys that don't... well, the peasants might revolt.

That doesn't make rabid PMs acceptable, though. That's not why the system exists. No user should ever feel hesitant about checking their in box. That being said, if "sad loser" is the worst of it, that's pretty mild (imo) and just about the criticism one would expect for that kind of stunt, I'd think. I don't think one would undertake this course of action expecting to be applauded for it, ne? The fact that the criticisms were sent via PM could be chalked up to the desire of the sender to avoid a public flame war.

*shrug* my 2 cents.

I think the reason I was as offended as I was is because I did not expect it. I thought that members might tell me to sell them back, or laugh, but I didn't expect I would offend someone. Because the HM wrote as if I offended him (not sure of gender, but his username is more male than female), He wrote like one insulted. Called me arrogant.

I was just very taken back. But it was also said out of spite, So I was insult. Though "sad loser" isn't the worst thing you could call someone, the intend behide it is what counts.

Now see I disagree with you there Sly, I don't think being called a Sad Loser on a PM is mild at all, as a joke or a bit of banter that would be fine -but aside from reading Tuvors posts we know nothing about him, and he could take that kind of thing really seriously - Actually I don't think he has, but sometimes the smallest of comments can really hit home, I know that the 'buying everything in the shop' stunt was a bit of fun and maybe people think that he deserved a bit of a roasting - I don't.
Also I don't understand the Retarded bit - in what way?

If this is the type of thing that made Skyweir want to leave the Watch, I can hardly blame her
Tuvor I think her reasons were a bit more complex than that. I think this prank of your's and Landwasters was in poor taste--I know some people who are highly upset by this. I truly hope those folks aren't the hatemailers... :? I can see it as a joke and fun (I, personally, have to work on it...)--but you know there's a wide range of people on this board-Some people let can let everything go, some react to everything. I was becoming the latter till Jay force-fed me 5 gallons of prune juice and shoved two nitrous oxide inhalers up each nostril :D ;)

I'd let the hatemail go for now--but if the hate mail has a definate pattern: that's a definate problem. :?

In my lingo, if I say something is retarded (or retahded as homage to my friend Tom from Boston), I mean something along the lines of "a waste of time, meaningless, aggravating, and general BS." Other people might say "gay," though a little hypocritical, I find that to be somewhat insensitive.

My point is, if you're going to push people's buttons, you should probably grow a thick skin. It's a lot more admirable (again, imo), than saying, "Geez, can't you guys take a joke," and acting like you're the victim. Genuinely apologize or don't, but don't get all self-pitying when you're the one who started the whole deal.

Again, just my unsolicited opinion and maybe a little bit of advice. Nothing more.

Ahhh.., I see what you mean now - My point was that it's very easy to get the wrong idea from a seemingly simple statement - like 'retarded' for example, or 'sad loser' as another example, but I take your point about growing a thick skin and for what its worth I agree.

I think everyone is taking this whole thing to seriously (exept me, landwaster and kevinswatch; oh, sorry for not mentioning anyone else that doesn't think it's a big deal)

TAKE IT EASY

All due respect to this fourm but, their only IMAGINARY items (ie. their not real!). Anyone that gets too hung up over it seriously needs to get back to the real world for a while.

Yeah, that was what I was telling Tuvor. When you joke around like this, you HAVE to expect that people may be a little upset about it who don't understand that you're joking. The joke was a little funny, but it is easy to see how people may be upset/offending/whatever with it. So it's Tuvor's job as the joker to understand that and be able to maturely deal with people who come up with these problems.

But also, like I said, this was a pretty harmless joke, and there is no reason for any harmful words to come out of it. We should be able to act maturely. So if anyone is still having problems with this, please, please, just IM me. Or work it out maturely between the two of you with the problem. But what isn't cool are silly quarells over silly things like this.

But really, I think the two main things to concider when posting anything on a message board are to 1) Not take everything very seriously, unless it is really serious and 2) Respect everyone else. And those rules are important for everyone, no matter what you're doing.

"Jay force-fed me 5 gallons of prune juice and shoved two nitrous oxide inhalers up each nostril"

Heh, am I really that bad? Hehe.

But I think we're all cool now, right?

Although seriously, I thought it was pretty funny that Tuvor even had enough money to buy everything. I thought it was even funnier that he spent the time to buy every item and then later to sell every item back. Hehe.-jay

just one question tho... understanding that it was a joke and to be honest, not a very funny one...

what was the point? lol... wasn't it a total waste of time? lol...

I'm not laughing. And comparing Sky's temporary departure with this is definitely a stretch.
