For me Vain was about 6 Ft or a bit taller. I never envisioned as short. This is Vain for fucks sake.

Vain is perfectly proportioned ala de Vinci's 'Vitruvian Man' (see Wikipedia for details) and his height is such that as noted above with upraised arm the distance between the two heels of the SOL is equidistant with the staff (which of course Vain is).
