MM, if we're gonna go your route, we should just adhere to the Four Basic Food Groups:
Sugar
Salt
Caffeine
and Grease.

Chardonnay is white and white wine is just for cooking :pHarbinger wrote:Vader wrote:Wouldn't need a Chardonnay. I'd need a good Cab, though.Currently I'd say any 5 great Bordeaux will do.
I meant great RED Bordeaux wines of course. Cabernet Sauvignon is the main variety for Bordeaux (along with Merlot and Cabernet Franc)

Heh...for survival purposes, living long enough to get to a nice bar/restaur.
Garlic or red pepper
Raw oats [and 2 stones in case I need flour]
Broccoli or Cauliflower
Fish
Cannola or Olive oil.
For dying happy:
What Z said, except I LIKE wild game flavor...so instead of ribeye: venison, moose, or ostrich
[not kidding either...much better than ordinary beef, pork, or fowl].

Ya know, I've actually had a lot of fun with this thread over the years- except that I pose the question as five spices. It's interesting because you can really do a lot with 5- even if salt and pepper are 2 of the choices. Plus. you can really tell a lot about a person's tastes by their choices. So aside from salt and pepper, what 5 spices (1 ingredient seasonings) would you choose?

Hey, how come I never saw this thread?
(And where's Infelice?)
Wow, ok...uh...ingredients
1. Beef
2. Potatoes
3. Salt
4. Red Wine
5. Butter
That'll do me.
As for spices...as long as I have salt, I can live without anything else.
I'm partial to cinnamon and nutmeg. (Are we differentiating between spices and herbs?)

Do dried herbs or vegetables (ground chilli) count as spices?
I'd say:
Salt
Pepper
Cumin
Ground chilli/paprika/cayenne
Oregano
