Also the dragons might have starved to death w/o any sheep (we wouldn't want them eating Ranyhyn now would we...). If Dragons were equated with Earthpower they might be TOO powerful--but it might be fun to see them scaring the bejesus o/o the Elohim  And it would be very sad to see Forestals with firehoses trying to stop them from torching what's left of the One Forest. Yes the Griffins seemed a little o/o place--but I'll tell u 1 thing-they scared the bejesus o/o this Elohim! :D
BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You get it.

Dragons are cool, but I don't think the Chrons are hurt by not having dragons. Donaldson didn't need them, or choose to use them, to tell his story.

On another topic mentioned above...re the giants. They vaguely reminded me of the Ents, well maybe Ents on a LOT of speed.

Gi-ents! LOL!

Now I have a silly question... What did the Fire lions really look like? Like lava or was there more to them?

Since LOTR, I kind of visualize them like the horses in the water that Arwin summoned to wash the Nazgul's laundry while they were still wearing it. Except they would be lions in flaming lava, of course.

Hile Troy encountered a griffin at Doriendor Corishev. SRD described the griffin as carrying Ruel's (HT's Bloodguard) body. When HT killed the griffin by severing it's head, the blood from the griffin sprayed on HT's face, causing his blindness.
Nope, that one was one of the vultures in the Vortex of Trepidation.

The Griffins were in Soaring Woodhelven in LFB, then they were mentioned as being at the Mithil Valley and at other points with Fleshharrower's army in TIW.

Boy, what a great name that is! But, it raises the question: If Daredevil is the "man without fear", then is he immune to the vortex? :screwy:

If DD is in fact immune then he would have been pretty valuable at Doriendor Corishev. He might have looked out of place, but valuable. Fleshharrower would have loved his costume.

To get back on track here, a few dragons would've been welcome in the Land.

Dunno why.

I just like dragons! Is that so hard you you people to accept?

Hey, stop throwing chairs at me!

And how do we know that there are not dragons in another part of that world? Maybe we will get to meet some in the third chrons.
And SRD's dragon in Daughter of Regals is pretty cool! 8)

I'm actually re reading DOR. Right now. :D
There might be Dragons elsewhere. I'm sure there is a vast world that has yet to be described by SRD. We've never seen the homeland of the Haruchai or the Giants. I don't think there is anything at all wrong with the Chronicles as they stand. Near perfection if you ask me. I just think Dragons are neat and Donaldson would have done a masterful job intergrating some into the story if he was so inclined.

i agree .. if Donaldson had wanted dragons .. i am sure they would have been integrated well as you say clear .. but who knows what will be in the 3rd chrons.

i actually love the creatures that SRD included .. arguleh's sandgorgans, elohim .. they're all brilliant imho ..

dragons?? sure .. or not .. it doesnt matter to me ..

why not unicorns?? or wizards? <they're done to death prolly why> ;) or ice breathing butterflies??

Nope, no dragons. It would have twisted the chrons towards more ordinary fantasy...Perfect as it is :D
