I'm a bit puzzled by your need to explain that.

Wasn't there an android named Hymee or some such thing on Get Smart?
Comic fans will remember Ultron-5 the evil android made of adamantium.
Deathlok is about as cyborg as Robocop.

So long since I read it - spelling may not be right: Daneel Olivaw,Foundation. Oh, yeah! And his sidekick in a couple of the robot novels, can't remember his name- he was sentient but didn't tell anyone. Awesome!

Carrying on Danlo's point, the buffy bot was a robot and not an android.

I think you're forgetting Kryten from Red Dwarf. Got to be one of the funniest robot/androids ever.

Roy Batty: replicant, but Philip K. Dick suggest that replicants are androids with title of his book.

Isn't an android just a humanoid robot?

Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep?--yes andriods in Blade Runner to be sure--and Nomad gets my vote for one of best robots-or whatever he was--I also loved the fishing line (that u weren't supposed 2 see) supending him! "Must sterilize, must ster-ril-lize..." Murrin an andriod is made to at least look like a human and should have at least a fleshy-like covering and built in nerve responses-so C3PO doesn't qualify, but I believe Data does...now a cyborg--like a Borg as the name implies--is a bit different.

I agree with your notions danlo. Since I've had a while to think of it there is one android I remember was pretty cool. In the Original Star Trek series episode What Little Girls are Made of, Looney Toon scientist turned android Roger Corby made an android duplicate of Captain Kirk.

Sky, why does your post remind me of Mecha-Godzilla? Well it does. Not many people beyond dAN will remember the amazing ROG 2000. The coolest robot in all comicdom!

What's the name of this thread? ;) Danlo's point was that 7 of 9 was never an android nor robot, but a cyborg, who, in the end, was returned to almost entirely human.

Speaking of comic robots... I always liked Death Head I. The Destroyer was pretty cool though not much of a talker. Red Skull's sleeper was pretty cool too
